Red Dead Redemption 2’s story ends with a heartfelt and emotional conclusion that fans have called an “absolute masterpiece”. It’s a beautiful ending, and many players were probably wondering what awaits them in Rockstar Games’ Western post-game… You build a house.

That’s right there’s a section where you put together a ranch by hand for your family, which is oddly one of the highlights of the game since you do the majority of the work yourself, which is quite rewarding. But what if you fancy your own place to say? Somewhere you can call your own and customise to your heart’s content? Well look no further, as a new mod lets you do just that.

The Buyable Properties mod, made by bolmin70, adds three different properties to the world of Red Dead Redemption 2, all of which can be bought and customised to your heart's content. Both the exterior and interior of the houses can be changed to suit your own style or preference, making it a great investment, especially if you’ve got some cash burning a hole in your pocket in the epilogue.

It’s a welcome addition to the game, and is reminiscent of the property system in Grand Theft Auto games, although this mod adds way more options for making your humble abode more personal and cosy.

It also adds to the immersion of Red Dead Redemption 2, granting the player a safe place to unwind after a long day of harassing NPCs, hunting down bounties, committing all sorts of crimes or just relaxing and rearranging inventories. You can’t build this house yourself, but it doesn’t mean you can’t call it home.

The modding community has been doing tremendous things with Red Dead recently, introducing a variety of mods that expand the world, add new missions and bounties, and let the player float across the sky in their very own hot air balloon. Can’t wait to see what they add next!
