Steam Free Download Is a 95% Rated Cozy Hit For Stardew Valley Gamers

The weekend is almost upon us, which means you may be on the lookout for something to play.
If you’re a cosy gamer, I may have just the thing for you.
Heidi’s Legacy is an upcoming narrative sim that’ll be launching on PC storefront Steam at an unspecified date.
While we don’t yet know the title’s launch date, you can already try out its free demo which is pulling in rave reviews.

“Play as Heidi, a young woman who escapes the harshness of city life by returning to the mountains of her youth,” the synopsis begins.
“Taken in by your grumpy but kind grandfather, you are entrusted with caring for his goats and gradually become part of a small alpine village, where you take part in shaping its future.
“Guide your goats through blooming meadows, help them find the best flowers to graze, and keep them happy with toys and attention. In return, they'll provide milk and wool, which are precious resources for the village's revival.”
Players will craft important goods, explore the mountains, and partake in branching dialogue conversations as you progress through this charming experience which, I’ll add, boasts a gorgeous painterly aesthetic.
The demo takes you through the start of the game, so you’ll chart the early steps of Heidi’s return to the countryside.
A 95% Rating On The Demo Paints a Positive Picture
Devs note that you’ll be able to “care for your first goats and learn the basics of daily mountain life” as well as “get a first look at the crafting system through simple production activities”.
Demo players will also be able to “explore the village and its surroundings”, “meet key characters and begin forming relationships”, and “start improving the life of the village, one small step at a time”.
“This demo is an introduction to the full game. Heidi’s Legacy will expand on these mechanics with deeper systems, more characters, and meaningful choices that will shape the future of the mountain and its community,” they add.
It looks as if the demo can last for a couple of hours, judging by the completion time of those who have left reviews.
It’s here that I’ll point out that Heidi’s Legacy’s demo already has an impressive 95% rating on Steam.
“This is an adorable game! I loved the art style, and the little goats are so so cute!!! The story is also pleasant and well written. If you're into cosy games, I highly recommend trying it,” wrote one player.
“Cute and relaxing cozy game. There's even a digging minigame that reminds me of the one in Pokemon DP,” added another.
“Very relaxing game with cute goats ! The mountain setting is beautiful, the music is soothing, and the goats are a lot of fun to take care of,” reads one more review.
It’s most definitely a game for other cosy hits like Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing and, more recently, Pokémon Pokopia.
