Life sims like Stardew Valley are intended to be comforting and relaxing and while they do fit that bill, they can also be a little too demanding of your time.
Those crops arenāt going to water themselves, after all.
If the never-ending grind is something that puts you off the genre or has left you feeling a little burnt out by your favourite cozy titles, I may have just the game for you.
Indie developer Galago Group has officially unveiled Tiny Harbor and while this cozy sim is of a very similar ilk to Stardew Valley, it includes idle elements to suit even the laziest of gamers.

āSometimes, you just need to slow down,ā begins Tiny Harbourās synopsis.
āFor Sidney and her cat, Captain Sally, that meant leaving the busy city life behind and returning to a place Sidney had never forgotten, a tiny harbour by the sea where she spent her childhood summers.
āOne little dock. A single fishing boat. It wasn't much. But it was theirs.ā

Itās up to you to guide Sidney into transforming that small, quaint dock into a thriving fishing village.
Youāll send boats out to sea, process their catches, and build out production lines as you slowly expand your budding empire, all with Captain Sally by your side.
As Tiny Harbor uses idle elements, itās up to you whether you get hands-on with those aforementioned tasks or whether you set everything up to automate.
That rids the game of practically all grind, allowing you to progress with next to no effort if thatās the method you prefer.
You can leave Tiny Harbor running while you work, socialise, or study, and return to it to see whatās changed.
As Sidney expands the village, NPCs will move in, each with their own cat. Yes, that means you can make new friends and recruit help.
Thereās no set way to grow your harbour. Developers note that you should āfind the balance between efficiency, automation, and simply making your little corner of the coast feel like homeā.

If you grew up loving Tamagotchi, you should get a kick out of Tiny Harbor
Tiny Harbor currently lacks a launch date, although we know that itās coming to PC via Steam.
However, you can currently get a free taster for it courtesy of a demo thatās arrived on Steam.
The demo will introduce you to the gameās key mechanics and if you like what you play, you can wishlist the full title to be kept up to date on its progress.
The team at Galago Group comprises just three developers who all hail from Sweden: Adam, Robin, and Johan.
Having all grown up in the 90s, they cite Tamagotchi as having a major influence on the game as well as their own felines.
It looks like a delightful little cozy title, so try it out and support this indie project.
