Stardew Valley is the gift that keeps on giving, with developer Eric ‘ConcernedApe’ Barone still very much dedicated to updating the title with new content.
If you’re looking for a change of pace though, albeit one with heavy flavourings of Stardew Valley, you’ve come to the right place.
It was just a couple of weeks ago that Innerfire Studios’ Farming Camp caught our eye.
Today, the upcoming pixel art adventure farming sim has officially launched a free demo on PC storefront Steam, allowing cosy gamers to experience a slice of the action.

If this is the first you’re hearing of Farming Camp, it sees you partake in a unique summer camp.
Evertree Farming Camp is in search of the next best farmer, giving players plenty of opportunities to partake in all of the usual agricultural cosy fare.
You’ll step into the shoes of budding farmer Alessandra who attends Evertree Farming Camp in the hopes of securing the best farmer title.

“Farming Camp is a cozy, single-player farm management game that follows an ambitious teenager on a mission to become the best farmer in camp,” the synopsis reads.
“Welcome to Evertree Farming Camp, where hard work, friendship, and a little camp chaos go hand in hand.
“Manage your farm alongside your companions, complete chores for points, and navigate the dynamics of a colourful teenage cast.”
As you’ve likely gathered, you’ll befriend an array of NPCs throughout this experience but perhaps most excitingly, Farming Camp features tons of minigames.
Whether it’s chopping wood or ridding your farm of pests, Farming Camp is a game packed with things to do.
In the demo, you’ll experience Alessandra’s early days at camp.
“Explore the routine, meet your companions, and test your skills in a variety of farm activities,” devs tease.
From today, players can enjoy one in-game week of gameplay.
That’ll allow you to experience six minigames, meet 12 characters, and unlock and complete a variety of quests - which all sounds like a great time.
Much like Stardew Valley, Farming Camp utilises a gorgeous 2D pixel art aesthetic.
I don’t want to criticise Stardew Valley because it’s an all-timer but there’s something even more enchanting about Farming Camp’s visuals.
They seem to leap off the screen with such depth, colour, and warmth.
The cosy gaming space is very overcrowded these days. After all, there’s only so many life sims that one person can commit themselves to.
Farming Camp looks like something very special though, so it’ll be interesting to see what players have to say when reviews start flooding in on Steam.
Dive into the demo now. There’s no word on how long this one’s sticking around for.
