Marvel’s Wolverine reveals free DLC but it’s not available for all players to claim

Marvel’s Wolverine players can now claim free DLC; however, this content is not available for all players, as the giveaway is locked in some regions of the world. But there is good news to share, because it’s not all doom and gloom with the newest PlayStation 5 console exclusive.

Following its announcement alongside Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 during a PlayStation Showcase in September 2021, Marvel’s Wolverine, developed by Insomniac Games, is finally here on PS5.

Yet, the new hack-and-slash adventure starring everyone’s favourite grumpy X-Men member has faced a barrage of criticism, including accusations that Marvel’s Wolverine is excessively holding the player's hand throughout the game.

What is the free Marvel’s Wolverine DLC and how can you claim it?

The free Marvel’s Wolverine DLC in question is for the ‘Yellow Variant’ suit. However, this promotion is only available to Disney Plus subscribers, but there is more bad news.

“Keeps saying Disney+ perks are not available in my region for this specific perk even though it is available in Canada; seems someone messed up, damn,” exclaimed Reddit user davidnestico2001. “They excluded Quebec like these companies also do,” added rtrrt5ttgffg. Another Reddit user confirmed that they’ve not been able to claim it in Montreal either.

Who else can’t claim the free Marvel’s Wolverine DLC?

Well, it seems like most people are excluded from claiming this Marvel’s Wolverine DLC, including those in the United Kingdom. This DLC was only released in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Argentina and Mexico.

It’s also available in Canada, despite what’s said by those Reddit users above. With that in mind, it does look like certain states have been excluded in The Great White North.

Your region may be excluded, but you can still claim the free Marvel’s Wolverine DLC

While it might feel a little disappointing that you can’t claim this DLC, despite owning Marvel’s Wolverine and subscribing to Disney Plus, there is some good news. The ‘Yellow Variant’ suit is unlockable in-game for everyone, and this Disney Plus offer is only an early unlock.

From my time spent with Marvel’s Wolverine, it shouldn't take you any longer than an hour or so of gameplay to unlock the ‘Yellow Variant’ suit organically in-game.

“If you go into Marvel’s Wolverine with lowered expectations, able to look past some of its flaws, and not expect another Marvel’s Spider-Man, it might not hit the same heights as some of Insomniac Games’ best work,” we said in our review, scoring Marvel’s Wolverine 7/10.

“But there is enough here for it to be a worthwhile adventure for fans, both casual and devoted, of Marvel’s ever-popular but grumpy hero.”

Marvel’s Wolverine is out now exclusively on PlayStation 5.
