There’s nothing quite like losing yourself in an epic open world game. In fact, it’s something we were discussing here at GAMINGbible HQ this very morning. As joyous as it is, open world games can hinder all progress on your gaming backlog. It’s just so easy to spend hours wandering instead of making any actual progress.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a great example. As compelling as the main story is, Rockstar crafted such an intricately detailed open world that it’s next to impossible not to get distracted. In fact, it’s so detailed that fans are still finding new features five years after release. This week alone, one player tricked an NPC into committing a crime, while another discovered a rare wildlife event. Today though, I bring you a very cool mod which can completely overhaul the game experience by allowing you to go full on Hitman.

Take a look at some of our favorite Red Dead Redemption 2 wins and fails below.

The mod is the word of Nexus Mods user Shtivi and is called ‘Contracts Remastered’. As you may have guessed, the mod allows you to become a hitman - placing bounties on targets, and eliminating them for payment. The description reads, “Become a wild west hitman and assassinate targets for payments. This is a complete remake of the original RDR ‘Contracts’ mod, including unique new mechanics, improved and dynamic mission scenarios and a lot of other features.”

There are an infinite number of assassination missions so you’re certainly never going to get bored with this mod, and you can pick these up from NPCs in the game’s major towns. You’ll be given a card with a photo of the target and it’s completely up to you to find and recognise them, so don’t expect the game to do the legwork. NPC targets are designed to blend into their environments. You can also threaten your target with a new hostages feature.

Compared to the original ‘Contracts’ mod, this version creates missions before entering target areas to “create a more immersive feeling”, improves AI, adds translations, and offers in-game tutorials. You can download the mod now from Nexus Mods.
