MCU Leak Confirms Our Next Big Bad After Doctor Doom

With superheroes comes supervillains and the MCU is not complete without The Big Bad of each of its phases.

Over the years, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has seen our favourite superheroes come up against some truly terrifying beings such as Ultron in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, and more recently, Doctor Doom in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars.

Although Phase Six has only just begun with The Fantastic Four: First Steps, it seems as though Marvel executives already have an idea on who will be the next major villain, making their debut in Phase Seven after the current phase wraps up with Avengers: Secret Wars in December 2027.

Not only that but it may be a character we have already met.

This news comes courtesy of Marvel insider Daniel Richtman who claims that Sacha Baron Cohen's Mephisto will be the next major villain in the MCU and he will also star in the upcoming, and currently unannounced, Midnight Sons movie.

"Sacha Baron Cohen's Mephisto 'will be in 'Midnight Sons/Suns,''" Richtman shared on his Patreon account.

Marvel fans will have already met Cohen’s Mephisto in Disney+’s Ironheart which aired back in June and after years of campaigning for his MCU debut, it was a shock to see Mephisto being the driving force behind Ironheart’s series villain, The Hood.

It has yet to be confirmed when fans can see Cohen’s Mephisto pop up next but if this recent rumour is true, it could be in none other than Midnight Sons which will get him ready to take on a much bigger role in the next phase.

As for Midnight Sons, it is believed that it is currently in production and could hit our screens during Phase 7, although its cast or release date has yet to be confirmed.
