Red Dead Redemption 2 players need a little pick-me up when they’ve finished the game. It’s some pretty heavy stuff.

Rather than reexperience the game exactly like you played it before, you might want a change of pace, which is where mods come into the picture.

Take Bandit Hideouts as an example. It’s a mod that adds over 100 hideouts to the game’s open-world to spice up some of your exploration.

Approach them however you want, all in one go or sparingly throughout your playthrough; it’s up to you.

They’re a bit like the Bokoblin hideouts in The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild/Tears Of The Kingdom, entirely optional but there if you want to take them on.

You can look for them yourself by just exploring the map, but the best way would be grabbing the map that notes down all of their locations. It’ll save you a lot of time in the long run.

In addition to hideouts there are also ambush points, which are areas that’ll see you pursued by bandits on horseback. These are probably the more challenging of the encounters but I doubt it’s nothing seasoned players can’t handle.

Altogether it’s a pretty stellar addition to the game, and while it doesn’t send you on any new quests, it does give you more to do when you’re out in the open-world, perfect for when the story is getting a bit heavy and you need to blow off some steam.

Don’t forget as well that Rockstar Games has been adding some new content to Red Dead Online recently too. So if you’ve had enough of the story mode, it might be worth hopping online and seeing what missions have been added. One of the recent additions was very Undead Nightmare-coded.
