Red Dead Redemption 2 players finally find way inside Braithwaite girl's locked outhouse

Red Dead Redemption 2’s open-world is full to the brim with secrets, Easter eggs and hidden locations and hardcore fans are eager to discover all that the hit Rockstar game has to offer.

That is why one fan took things a step further by discovering a way to dive into one of Red Dead Redemption 2’s biggest mysteries in more depth than ever before.

Throughout the course of Red Dead Redemption 2, players can stumble across all manner of secrets if they choose to utilise the expansive open-world and stray off the beaten path.

That is how they will discover things such as the mysterious outhouse on the grounds of the Braithwaite Manor.

When stumbling close to this outhouse, players will hear a woman’s cries and the area will be marked as one of many points of interest in Red Dead Redemption 2.

After investigation, we have learned that the voice belongs to Gertrude Braithwaite who was born to Catherine Braithwaite and was subsequently locked up in the outhouse due to her being both disfigured and mentally unwell.

As to not tarnish the family name, the family decided to assign her to this fate rather than send her to a sanitarium.

Until now, if players choose to get too close to the crescent-shaped hole in the outhouse, Getrude will respond by trying to grab them and as a result, there is no way to truly see what is inside.

However, thanks to one user over on r/redddeadredemption, applying some useful maneuvering and the help of a deer carcass, there is a way to enter.

If done properly, Arthur will find himself in the outhouse alongside Gertrude who can be seen cradling her knees to her chest in its confines.

This is just another example of Rockstar’s attention to detail as they bothered to create a whole model despite being the outhouse seemingly inaccessible.
