Red Dead Redemption 2 players can download this free fan-made expansion that finally allows us to explore Guarma without restraint.
When Rockstar Games released Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2018 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One before arriving on PC, for many, it became the best game from the studio, surpassing even the likes of the Grand Theft Auto series.
Set before the events of 2010’s Red Dead Redemption, you play as Arthur Morgan, a respected member of the infamous outlaw group known as the Dutch van der Linde gang.

Without giving too much away, just in case you haven't played this Rockstar Games classic, Red Dead Redemption 2 tells the story of a tight family unit, torn apart by corruption and greed from the inside.
What’s more, its huge Wild West world is not only packed with fun missions, activities and NPCs, but it also looks gorgeous and has a fun gameplay loop that will keep you coming back for more.
Later in the game, you find yourself on an island called Guarma. It’s one of the most interesting moments in the game that has major implications for the conclusion of the story. Unfortunately, your time on this island is short-lived.
However, that can all change thanks to this free expansion created by the BGRP Team called ‘Beta Guarma Restoration Project 1.1’ that’s available to download now via NexusMods.

“A lore-friendly complete Guarma overhaul mod that aims to enhance and renew the Guarma experience with new things to do,” reads the description of the mod.
“New map details, new strangers to come across, new locations, and more, heavily inspired by what we know about the island in its pre-release stages. Now remade and remastered almost fully from the ground up.”
So, if you wanted to explore Guarma free from the shackles of story progression, now is your chance. But it should be stated, as is the case with most mods, this is a PC exclusive.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is backwards compatible on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
