FromSoftware has sparked mass excitement for a new series that will no doubt delight Dark Souls and Elden Ring fans.
Without question, FromSoftware is one of the most respected video game developers in the industry, not only because of bangers like Dark Souls and Elden Ring, but also the likes of Bloodborne, Demon’s Souls, Armored Core and more.
Another game that is beloved by fans is 2019’s Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (I can’t believe it’s been nearly seven years since its launch). Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice blended the challenging combat and gruelling bosses, synonymous with FromSoftware, and is inspired by Japan’s Sengoku period.
Announced at Gamescom in 2025, Sekiro: No Defeat is an adaptation of the FromSoftware action RPG, and it just so happens to be the very first adaptation from the famed developer.
Fans Stunned by New Sekiro: No Defeat Trailer
Following its reveal last year, we’ve been treated to a second trailer for Sekiro: No Defeat, and fans have reacted accordingly.

The trailer captures the vibe of its video game counterpart almost perfectly, and I have a feeling that it might prove to be a popular movie, even for those who have never played Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
“This looks wild, I can't wait. The way Tomoe Genichiro looks is incredible. Isshin is going to be mind-blowing,” said Shap6.
“This looks like a dream. The music is absolutely stunning. Seems like we may get a look into Wolf's upbringing with Owl and Lady Butterfly, replied TaitoMagatsuu. “I would love it if we could expand on some of the lore. Would kill for even a glimpse of Tomoe and Kingfisher.”
“Holy s***, that was breathtaking,” exclaimed OnslaughtCasuality42. “I never really disliked the art style upon the first showing, but I’m fully into it now. Hell, that final scene with Kuro looked beautiful, and the music too, holy hell.”
What Else Do We Know About Sekiro: No Defeat?
Sekiro: No Defeat will be produced by Qzil.la, will premiere in Japan on the silver screen and will be available elsewhere via the anime streaming service, Crunchyroll, later this year.
What’s more, most of the voice cast from the game will reprise their roles in the anime movie, including Daisuke Namikawa as the protagonist Sekiro and Kenjiro Tsuda as the antagonist, Genichiro Ashina. It will also have exclusively hand-drawn animations, according to its director, Kenichi Kutsuna.
There’s Also an Elden Ring Movie on the Way!
The arrival of Sekiro: No Defeat comes before the highly anticipated live-action movie adaptation of Elden Ring, which was also announced in 2025 with Alex Garland (Civil War) writing and directing. FromSoftware and George R.R. Martin will also be involved in its production.
We’ll let you know when a release date drops for both Sekiro: No Defeat and the Elden Ring movie.
