Red Dead Redemption 2 Player Breaks Game, Returns To Guarma

Now that's what you call a bumpy flight.

One Red Dead Redemption 2 player has found a way to get back to Guarma, and the results are pretty interesting.

Red Dead Redemption 2 fans will remember Guarma as the temporary location where Arthur and a few of his fellow gang members find themselves stranded during Chapter 5.

For the first half of the chapter, you’re stuck here and unable to continue with the game’s regular progression in America.

While you eventually get to return to the main game area, Guarma becomes inaccessible outside of these levels.

Or so, that’s what you’d assume. Players have been using mods and glitches to get back to Guarma well after Chapter 5 has concluded.

Why? Who knows. There isn’t really anything to do there after you’ve completed the chapter, but it’s a cool location nonetheless and a little different from the American locales in the main game.

You Can Now Fly To Guarma In Red Dead Redemption 2

Anyway, one player by the name of Beginning-Career1676 on Reddit has discovered a bug that allowed them to revisit Guarma after completing Chapter 5.

Using the famous “bridge bug” in Hennigan’s Stead - in which throwing a knife or tomahawk at a specific part of the bridge makes it bug out and launch you into the sky - the player was able to soar across the map and find themselves out of bounds.

After running in one direction for a while, the player eventually came across an area which was textured differently from the rest of the map. After crossing an invisible line, they began falling on an infinite loop.

After loading up their save, the player found themselves in Guarma, spawning in the jungle and being able to move around freely. It looks like restricted areas and wildlife were kept intact here too, similar to the version of Guarma that appears during Chapter 5.

The post then states that Beginning-Career1676 then reloaded their save and ended up back in the United States, ending their brief vacation in Guarma.

Still, what an interesting bug. This type of occurrence is common for Rockstar’s proprietary game engine, titled RAGE, which hides miscellaneous and unique locations outside of the map, like North Yankton in GTA V.

According to the comments in the post, you can also use this glitch to get to Mexico, which is fully rendered in Red Dead Redemption 2 in accordance with its appearance in the first game, albeit with some details and certain models missing.
