Red Dead Redemption 2 players are being attacked by monstrous creatures of the night, turning the open-world title into a horror game.

You wouldn’t necessarily call Red Dead Redemption 2 a scary game but there are quite a few creepy moments and encounters in it.

For starters there’s a serial killer hideout to find, as well as Easter eggs for the Strange Man and a literal vampire stalking the streets of St Dennis.

However what we’re talking about today is a bit more sinister, as a Reddit thread shared an image of what can only be described as a pig-headed demon, claiming it attacked them in the middle of the night without warning.

Apparently the player was just wandering around the single-player world when it happened, and it didn’t initiate any side missions or activities, not that any of them include being attacked by a monster anyway.

The actual model of the creature is the Man-Made Mutant, which can be found at one of the game’s points of interest.

According to other players in the comments, it gets modded in as an enemy by players on the online mode quite often.

As for why it appeared in the player’s single-player game, some modders will include it “as a joke” in some of their mods, but not include it in the descriptions so it’s a surprise for the player.

It’s pretty funny when you see it happening to somebody else, but I’d imagine seeing that thing emerge from the darkness as you’re roaming around must be pretty terrifying when you’re not expecting it.

So I guess the moral of the story is be careful which mods you download for Red Dead Redemption 2, as some might just casually throw a demon at you for a laugh.
