The official sequel to Halo Infinite will be with us very, very soon, and it will feature Master Chief and Cortana as they go up against their greatest foe yet: a familiar bloke called Jega ‘Rdomnai.

If you’re curious about what happens after the credits roll in Halo Infinite, but you don’t want to wait around for Microsoft to get off their butts and release a new game, then I have great news for you.

As revealed in an official blog post on the Halo Waypoint site, a new entry in the A Master Chief Story series is set to drop in December this year, titled Halo: Edge of Dawn.

The book will serve as a sequel to Halo Infinite, and will also act as a follow up to author Kelly Gay’s previous Halo novel, Halo: The Rubicon Protocol.

As for what the story of the book will focus on, here’s what the official synopsis from Halo Studios has to say about the plot.

“After eliminating War Chief Escharum and sending the Banished leadership into chaos, the Master Chief continues the fight on Zeta Halo, accompanied by his new AI companion and their loyal pilot Fernando Esparza”, the blog post on the Halo Waypoint site reveals

“As Spartan-117 searches for scattered allied forces, a young combat medic—tortured and imprisoned for months by the Banished and the enigmatic Harbinger—may hold the key to unlocking deeper mysteries within this ancient ringworld. But every step toward answers is haunted by the sinister and elusive blademaster Jega ‘Rdomnai, who is hellbent on vengeance…”

Hey, wait a tic– didn’t Jega ‘Rdomnai die during Halo Infinite’s story? I very specifically remember shooting this guy in the face a million times and watching his body flop to the floor afterwards.

Although, I do also remember a scene after where Master Chief couldn’t find his body so, guess this synopsis confirms why.

Hopefully Master Chief puts the guy down for good this time, because I’ll be annoyed if I have to do that boss fight again in the next Halo game.
