Halo: Combat Evolved fans are in disbelief following a rumour related to the unannounced remake.
When Halo: Combat Evolved launched with the original Xbox in November 2001, it instantly became one of the most important franchises in video game history.
Never before has an FPS game on console played so smoothly and looked so good as the legendary title from Bungie.
While not quite as slick as a keyboard and mouse on PC, Bungie showed that console players don't have to make do with a clunky experience when using a controller.

Since that time, Halo: Combat Evolved became the blueprint for FPS games on consoles, inspiring the likes of Call of Duty, Battlefield, Fortnite and much more.
The last game in the series, now handled by Halo Studios (formerly 343 Industries), is 2021’s Halo Infinite, which, while not a great entry, certainly wasn't the best, which is why fans will be hoping that the next game will get the series back on track.
If recent rumours are to be believed, the next game could be a remake of Halo: Combat Evolved, in celebration of the Xbox’s and Halo’s 25th anniversary.
With that in mind, a new rumour related to the yet-to-be-announced Halo: Combat Evolved has gotten fans concerned, who can’t believe that this could be true.

“Halo CE Remake Will Only Feature a Campaign Mode, It’s Claimed,” read a headline by Insider Gaming, shared by Redditor Turbostrider27.

“I can’t believe this will be true. Surely Xbox can’t be that stupid,” exclaimed darthmcdarthface.
“But will it feature the ever elusive local co-op?” asked Tumblrrito.
“I pretty much only play the campaigns, so that's fine with me,” said TheNittanyLionKing.
To be fair, if the rumoured Halo: Combat Evolved has no traditional multiplayer, that probably has a lot to do with Halo: The Master Chief Collection still being popular and features multiplayer modes from every mainline entry in the series, apart from Halo Infinite (which is standalone).

That being said, I would be shocked if the Halo: Combat Evolved remake launched without its ever-popular campaign co-op. We’ll update you once we learn more.
