Cyberpunk 2077 Gamers, You Can Finally Drive Hovercars

Up, up, and away

Cyberpunk 2077 players can have their very own functioning hovercar, completing the Blade Runner fantasy.

While flying cars are a thing in the Cyberpunk universe, the opportunity to ride in one doesn’t come up all too often in the game. Which is a shame, as they’re very cool.

However, thanks to a brand new free download for Cyberpunk 2077, you can now enable flight in any vehicle, allowing you to take to the skies. And it’s very cool.

This is done with the free mod Let There Be Flight, which was originally released for the PC version of Cyberpunk 2077 in 2022, and has seen various updates and improvements in the years since.

As written by the mod author, Jack Humbert, Let There Be Flight “enables a configurable flight system for all vehicles with custom thruster models, visual & sound effects, and animations.”

Here’s a video demonstrating the mod in action.

As you can see, it’s really polished for a fan-made mod. It even has custom sounds and animations. It feels like something that was officially released by CD Projekt Red.

Let There Be Flight is pretty configurable. You’re able to change most of the settings using the Mod Settings menu, as well as go into the mod files on your computer file explorer to gain more advanced customisation.

This mod is just one of many that you can download and install for Cyberpunk 2077, which introduces new gameplay features to the game.

That’s the main benefit of modding PC games, really. You get to unlock new features or alter the experience to make it feel like official content, even though it’s completely fan-made.

In addition to this, there’s the GoreRunner mod which introduces new violence effects to the game and brings it more in line with the art style featured in the animated adaptation, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.

And who can forget the third-person mode, which does exactly as it says on the tin, even if it is a little rough around the edges.

There’s also new modes, such as Dedra’s Truck Simulator and Eviction Notice, which are sure to bring in more hours to your playtime.

However, if it’s more about expanding the game and making it look prettier, there are also plenty of mods that can overhaul this for you, such as the map expansion mods or the ones featured in Digital Dreams’ videos.
