A sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 is on the way in the form of the codenamed Project Orion.
Unfortunately though, it’s not exactly arriving any time soon.
CD Projekt RED is very busy beavering away on The Witcher IV which lacks a release date but is expected to launch in the next couple of years.
Given that development on Project Orion won’t shift into first gear until after The Witcher IV has gone gold, I’d prepare yourself for a long, long wait ahead.

Thankfully, Cyberpunk 2077’s Night City has so much to offer, plus the game boasts an exceptional modding community.
There are plenty of mods out there that extend the experience, adding new quests, areas, and characters.

Today though, I’d simply like to direct your attention towards an incredible fan remaster.
Ever wondered what Cyberpunk 2077 looks like running in 4K at 170fps? Well, the always brilliant Digital Dreams has the answer.
The YouTube tech wizard returns with another modding masterpiece, applying over 300 mods to Cyberpunk 2077 in order to give it that next-gen feel.
Let’s face it, Cyberpunk 2077’s graphics are already fantastic. This overhaul just adds some extra polish.
You can, if you want, attempt to emulate Digital Dreams’ efforts via downloading the creator’s presets.
You’ll need a good PC though, plus a copy of Cyberpunk 2077.
If you’d just prefer to watch the eight-minute video showcase, you’ll witness some crisp cityscapes, fluid driving, and gorgeous reflections courtesy of Ultra Path Tracing.
Unsurprisingly, fans of the game are impressed by what Digital Dreams has created.
“This is what Need for Speed Underground felt like back in 2003,” began one viewer.
“But this is so, so much better. Makes you imagine what games we have 20 years from now where this will be something we joke about,” they continued.
Another added, “More real than real life.”
“Thats the first one out all of those ray tracing/path tracing mods that actually looks good and realistic. I’ve seen hundreds of them but none of them looked actually better than the original game,” reads a comment.
I have to say, I very much agree. I see a lot of these ‘next-gen’ inspired remasters, and this one genuinely boosts performance whereas so many overdo effects to the point where results can appear to look a tad phony.
I will remind you that a live-action adaptation of Cyberpunk 2077 is in the works, which could arrive before Project Orion. It’s hard to say given how secretive the project is.
I say, adaptation, it’ll be a brand new story set within Night City that’s being made in partnership with Anonymous Content.
Let’s hope plans are speeding up behind the scenes.
