Work is currently ongoing on the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, and while it may seem like a world away, we can always go back to the streets of Night City to tide us over.

One could argue that Cyberpunk 2077 needs no more work, and after years of toiling away, CD Projekt Red has given us the game they wanted to deliver, in all its brilliance.

However, there is a thriving modding scene that dishes out new ways to play every week, whether that’s with new missions, new items, or overhauls to the visuals.

While CD Projekt Red gave us a beautiful game, there are some dedicated modders who are bringing out improvements to the lighting, 3D models, and NPC styles.

These can make it feel like a brand-new game, or even a remaster, when they’re all thrown together.

Over on YouTube, Digital Dreams has down exactly that, running all the best visual mods on a beefy PC, to see just how good it could all look.

The game here is running path-tracing, in 8K, with all the bells and whistles blaring.

Experienced with an RTX 5090 FE and powerhouse processor in the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, the results are stunning, even if they’re not attainable for everyday gamers.

There’s no denying the gorgeous outcome, particularly in the scenes taking place once the sun has set on Night City, bringing the new lighting to life.

Reflections are stunning, and the depth of the blacks and shadows give everything a nice bump in contrast.

Of course, not everyone would want to run so many mods, but it’s certainly impressive what these community creators can do.

It does leave us hankering for the sequel, though, as you know that CD Projekt Red is going to be bringing their best, especially after the disastrous launch of the original game.

Fans who have watched the video are excited by what they see, even if this isn’t strictly a remaster, or in any way official.

But, seeing your favourite game get a new coat of paint can be a fascinating process, and the modders out there are doing great work showcasing what can be done with the current tools.

If you’ve got a NASA grade PC, give this a shot once you’ve downloaded all the mods needed.
