High On Life is getting a spooky DLC just in time for Halloween, and it's releasing this week.

The DLC was announced some time ago, but is finally nearing its release date, and promises to deliver some solid scares with plenty of High On Life comedy injected in for good measure.

Check out the trailer for the High On Knife expansion below

Two new trailers dropped a few days ago, one of which provides a sneak peek at some of the new gameplay, complete with plenty of action and gore, as well as some spooky locations and characters players will encounter on the quest.

The second trailer though was a beautifully animated stop-motion teaser, which seemingly took a lot of inspiration from the highly-popular PlayStation demo game, P.T. The player’s character finds themselves in a darkened hallway, accompanied by the talking knife, Knifey, before being spooked by a monster. The release date for the DLC was then revealed to be 3 October.

High On Knife will be a paid DLC for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 platforms, though the price of the expansion is currently unknown. The game’s developer, Squanch Games, has promised plenty of new content though, so whatever its price point may be, it’ll likely be worth picking up.

The most notable addition is the two new guns, like Harper, an ex-military pistol with deep-seated trauma, and B.A.L.L, a pinball gun “coordinated group of little guys who are doing their best.”

High On Life has had a successful run so far, originally released as a timed exclusive for Xbox platforms, before eventually making its way onto Sony consoles.

It was featured on Xbox Game Pass immediately after launch, quickly becoming the biggest Xbox Game Pass release of 2022 and the biggest single-player launch on Xbox’s subscription service.

High On Knife will be released on 3 October, for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
