PS5 quietly drops exclusive horror game that’ll keep you up at night

Horror fans, check this out

PlayStation has just quietly dropped a console exclusive horror that you can play today but be warned, it could keep you up all night.

It’s fair to say that the PlayStation Store is not short of major AAA horror games to choose from to enjoy on the PS5, with Dead Space, Alan Wake 2, and Silent Hill 2 available to name a few.

However, there are also loads of indie horror games to play and one potential hit has just dropped on the digital store.

The game in question, as brought to our attention by ComicBook, is the co-op horror, developed and published by Intense, Underward.

Out of 42 ratings at the time of writing, Underward has a score of 4.48 on the PlayStation Store and an overall rating of “Mostly Positive” on Steam.

So, at the very least, it looks like Underward has some potential, especially for those who enjoy co-op horror games like Phasmophobia.

Underward is a one to four player co-op horror exploration game. Investigators must carry test-subject monsters from a deadly underground abandoned hospital ward,” reads the description of the game. “Can you uncover the truth hidden deep within the depths of Underward?”

“Intriguing,” said R3DGaming in the comments section of the YouTube trailer.

“I feel like this game has a lot of potential. I realised that there needs to be teamwork to progress in the game. The textures are great, but I wish there was a way to turn off the fish eye effect,” wrote Buu on Steam.

While having some jank, judging by its trailer, Underward looks like it could be a lot of fun. Thankfully, there’s not much risk involved with this indie horror because it only sells for £6.69 on Steam and £9.29 on the PlayStation Store when not discounted. Still, a free demo would be great.

Whilst no known official partnership is running between Sony and Intense, Underward is for now a PlayStation console exclusive (alongside its PC access).

It remains to be seen whether the title will eventually make the hop to Xbox.
