The latest Xbox console price has leaked from a reliable source, and if accurate, it could put the PS5 Pro’s hefty price tag to shame. While the new Xbox console is expected to cost a similar amount to Sony’s premium PS5 Pro, there may be more to the reported price than meets the eye.
When Microsoft announced the stunning Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition console in June 2026, it didn't reveal a price. At the time, all we knew was that its design was inspired by the original translucent green Xbox console that launched in 2001/02. The special edition console also comes with a matching controller, 1TB of storage and a disc drive.
According to Dealabs, a website with a strong track record for leaking video game industry information, the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition will reportedly launch on November 27, 2026, priced at €899.99. If accurate, that would suggest a US price of around $899.99, while the UK price could potentially sit around £799.99.
Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition pre-orders go live next week

Pre-orders for the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition will go live during Gamescom next week. As for the translucent green controller, that will also get a standalone release on October 20, 2026.
Advert
If this leaked price proves accurate, the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition could cost roughly the same as the current PlayStation 5 Pro without a disc drive.
However, while there's no denying that the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition is a gorgeous console, it's important to remember that under the hood, it's still an Xbox Series X. In other words, its performance is essentially unchanged from the console that launched in 2020, and it doesn't offer the additional power of the PS5 Pro. The premium price is therefore largely a privilege of owning a limited edition console.

Console prices keep getting more expensive
More than with any previous console generation, this one feels unusually expensive. Typically, as a console generation ages and we get closer to the next generation, hardware prices tend to fall rather than increase.
When the Xbox Series X launched in November 2020, it cost £449.99/$499.99, while the Xbox Series S (512GB) was priced at £249.99/$299.99. Today, the standard Series X with a disc drive costs £669.99/$799.99, while the Series S has risen to £429.99/$499.99.
The PlayStation 5 has followed a similar trajectory. Since launching in November 2020 at £449.99/$499.99 for the disc-drive model, its price has increased to £569.99/$649.99 today. Meanwhile, the PS5 Pro, which launched in November 2024 without a disc drive or vertical stand for £699.99/$699.99, now costs £789.99/$899.99.
Ultimately, whether the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition offers good value for money will come down to the buyer. For collectors and longtime Xbox fans, the nostalgic design and limited-edition status could make the premium cost worthwhile.
It's safe to assume that when pre-orders for the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition go live, it will sell out fast, so you'll need to act quickly to potentially avoid handing money over to greedy scalpers.
