A new update for Xbox Series X has brought in improvements for various features across the console’s dashboard.
The latest update for Xbox Series X consoles will make some graphics a little more higher quality, which should allow it to look much better at higher resolutions.
Xbox Series X owners can grab this update if they’re Alpha and Skip-Ahead Alpha testers as part of the Xbox Insiders program.
As announced on the Xbox Update Preview release notes, improvements are being made for certain graphics which appear on the Xbox home screen.

“We’ve increased the sharpness of gamerpics and certain game or achievement art on Xbox Series X consoles set to 4K output,” reads the patch note on the update page.
The update also features some fixes, which Microsoft details as “various stability and performance fixes,” and “various updates to properly reflect local languages across the console”.
However, one warning does reference “odd text” which may appear on your console while testing the update out, so be warned that this is a possible issue right now.

Meanwhile, Microsoft is also aware of some issues which have cropped up as a result of this update or a previous update that was reported during testing.
This includes an error where some backwards compatible titles (such as those on Xbox, Xbox 360, and Xbox One) can’t be hidden from the achievements list.
Another ongoing issue refers to the fact that users have reported some games not appearing in their collection when navigating through the home screen.
You may not experience these issues for yourself, but you should at least be aware that they may occur after installing the update.
While it’s a small update, it’s another quality-of-life upgrade which Xbox users are appreciating. Xbox’s Eden Marie has demonstrated the update on her Bluesky profile, and the improvements are certainly noticeable.
Moreover, Xbox has also released a few other updates to the console which adds features users have been requesting for a long time.
Most notably, this includes the ability to disable Quick Resume for certain games. Quick Resume was a heavily advertised feature when the Xbox Series X/S came out which allows you to resume playing games at any moment during gameplay.
Even if you turn the console off and unplug it, you’ll be able to resume playing when you next boot it up.
However, the feature was heavily broken for some games, particularly those which require a constant internet connection.
Some games would just hang up or glitch out if you booted them up from Quick Resume, so Xbox has added in a feature to allow you to deactivate it on certain games.
Other recent updates added to Xbox include the Game Pass price drop, achievements overhaul, and new Microsoft Rewards points features, which some have credited as part of Xbox's new CEO Asha Sharma's strategy.
Xbox Game Studios is set to release Forza Horizon 6 on PC and Xbox Series X/S later this month, with a PS5 version also in development.
It's also set to release Halo: Campaign Evolved, Fable, and Gears of War: E-Day sometime in 2026.
