Xbox’s New System Update Delivers Overhaul Gamers Have Been Begging For
Finally, Xbox listened

A new Xbox update is being rolled out to finally address one of the system’s most contentious features.
Xbox has undergone a lot of changes as of late and as we move through the year it’s going to see many more.
New leadership has shaken up the company quite a bit and longtime Xbox fans have been surprisingly supportive of its regeneration.
This has no doubt been helped by a new emphasis on what makes Xbox actually great, the games. To prove this backwards compatibility is officially making a comeback for the 25th anniversary, bringing back games we’ve sorely missed.

The company’s latest change is another example of its new resolve, one that gamers have literally been begging years for.
Xbox users who are part of the Insider Program now have access to the new and improved achievement system, which aims to make the digital trophies more rewarding based on fan feedback.
New CEO Asha Sharma acknowledged the new changes on X, saying: “We stood up a dedicated team to focus on fan feedback. Here are a few Achievements updates rolling out today, more coming soon.”
The changes are subtle but effective, like a much more animated pop-up notification when unlocking an achievement. Don’t worry, it still tells you what you did to unlock that achievement while you’re playing.
Rare achievements also have an updated icon, and will even feature a different animation compared to standard achievements to mark their status.

The team has also put a lot of work into how you can view your achievements, allowing you to sort them via category to better keep track of what you want to unlock next.
Some UI changes have also gone into effect and while it’s nothing ground-breaking it does make it easier on the eyes.
However the best addition by far is gamers will now be able to highlight which games they’ve 100% completed.
Much like how PlayStation offers a Platinum Trophy to mark your status as an ultimate gamer, Xbox will now let you show off which games you’ve mastered for both your personal viewing and sharing with friends.

On the other side of the spectrum you can now hide games you don’t want people to know you’re currently playing.
A lot of positive changes have been made here, and Xbox has said it’ll continue to listen to feedback in order to further improve achievements later down the line.
It took years of nagging but Xbox gamers finally have achievements worth bragging about, but is it on par with what PlayStation offers yet?
