After a mediocre year so far, in terms of major game releases, the latter half of the 2026 calendar is bursting and is already spilling out into next year.
While November 19 is marked with a huge red circle for obvious reasons, we're quickly entering a period that has AAA games dropping everywhere you look.
But that doesn't mean our gaming bucket lists are fully ticked off. In fact, looking past the first few months of next year, there is a lot of space for action. So, let's see what could be on the horizon.
And before you check, no, we are not holding our breath for The Elder Scrolls 6.
Advert
But there are 14 games and franchises begging for expansion, and the rumour mill is running strong.
Resident Evil Zero Remake
The Resident Evil series is as strong as it has ever been following the release of Requiem. But one of the sore spots on its resume is Zero. Capcom's GameCube missed the mark when it came with a complex inventory system, and flipping between the characters was clunky.
Yet the developers have long alluded to rectifying their mistakes, and when details emerged for 'Project Chambers', referencing protagonist Rebecca Chambers, a Resident Evil Zero remake has been at the tip of every Resi fan's tongue.
Hogwarts Legacy 2

It's the missing piece of the 2026 jigsaw. While many of the mainstream fantasy worlds have announced expansions, the magical world of Harry Potter has its eyes fixed on the Netflix reboot.
But a Hogwarts Legacy sequel is surplus, and fans even think that the new series adaptation could be announced in tandem with the show.
Cyberpunk 2077 DLC
Despite long ruling out the possibility of expanding on the Cyberpunk 2077 universe, instead hoping to regain fans' trust by focusing on The Witcher, CD Projekt RED has dangled the carrot of a DLC again.
Following the news of the Songs of the Past DLC for Wild Hunt, a sequel for Cyberpunk has become the centre of attention. But just as they have done for The Witcher 3, a sequel could be set up with a return to Night City through a DLC, and it would certainly round off what has been a stellar transformation of the game that was once written off amid a rocky launch.
Marvel's Venom
Spider-Man, Wolverine, Venom? As Marvel's Wolverine launches this October, the question of where Insomniac Games goes next has now been brought into debate. The MCU continues to combine with the X-Men, so there are possibilities there, but one character remains at the forefront of the rumours.
Thanks to the massive leaks in 2023, it was found that a Venom game and an accompanying DLC were on the way. While Miles Morales actor Nadji Jeter claimed the project was cancelled following the passing of Tony Todd, rumours have begun to resurface that claim that Marvel's Venom is back on and is coming in 2027.
Resident Evil Requiem DLC

Back to the Resident Evil universe, and not for the last time in this list. Having already been treated to post-launch expansions, adding to the wealth of excellence in Requiem, Capcom recently let slip that one more story is yet to be explored.
Reportedly teeing up future projects, rumours claim that the last Resident Evil Requiem DLC could be announced this year, arriving a few months later.
The Last Of Us Part 3
Having engaged the masses with the majestic HBO adaptation, the sense of unfinished business for The Last of Us has been heightened. Already, a third TV season has been confirmed, with the TV series set to run out of material beyond that.
Hoping to avoid a mess like Game of Thrones, head dog Neil Druckmann sent fans into a frenzy by saying that there are "a few stops that remain on the road ahead," stirring up hope of The Last of Us Part 3. Given the third season airs in 2027, if we're to get a game, it's likely Druckmann will want to get it out not too long after that. So, we'll see it soon?
Bloodborne

When we joked about Elder Scrolls 6 not making this list, it was for good reason; all the copium in the room is being swallowed by a Bloodborne Remaster (or at least a PC port).
Speculation has been driven by the upcoming R-rated Bloodborne movie, and it's worth noting that FromSoftware's next game, The Duskbloods, is a Nintendo Switch title, so there's a whole studio of experienced staff working on an unnamed project. It would be the update of the century, with this masterpiece getting a modern port, but we've held that hope before.
Dino Crisis Remake
Following the release of 2024’s Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, it appears that Dino Crisis could be the next franchise up for renewal.
Leakers recently put their reputation on the line to claim that a Dino Crisis remake is '100,000 percent' happening, which would be a welcome stroke of genius from Capcom. If it is 2027, it'll be late on, though.
Far Cry 7
Strangely, Far Cry 7 hasn't been announced, but leakers are already claiming that it is, first, real, and second, changing lanes from an action-adventure to a multiplayer extraction shooter.
Following the trend of many other franchises, the seventh game is rumoured to be a PvPvE scavenger loop with a long live-service life, and, that sounds pretty cool.
Zelda: Majora's Mask Remake
Link and Zelda are back up to their ways again this year as Ocarina of Time has kicked off a reboot craze, which has pointed directly towards a return to Majora's Mask.
This could be a great one to look out for, with fans actually claiming that a remake could damage the legacy of the title.
Resident Evil 10
Ticking off the last Resident Evil checklist box is the next mainline game. With Requiem being the absolute masterpiece that it is, following that is undoubtedly a perilous task, but it's one that is happening.
Despite not being 'confirmed', Resident Evil 10 leaked online, and Claire Redfield will be at the centre of it - also teeing up a potential Code Veronica remake, but I couldn't dare to put four games on this list. Now it's just a case of when, not if, and hopefully the Requiem momentum carries the series on into 2027.
Uncharted Reboot

Long requested, long-rumoured, long-eluding. A new entry from Uncharted would rock the PlayStation world more than anything on this list, but we're quickly moving into rocky waters.
Recent comments from Naughty Dog rule out a remaster or remake of previous games, but a reboot of the series is another matter entirely. In fact, there have been seeds sown in this department, but whether they will bloom is yet to be seen. It would be a fantastic way to end 2027, though.
Half-Life 3
Valve has mocked fans with Half-Life teasers for years. So why would 2027 be any different?
Well, the arrival of the Steam Machine has revived the discussions surrounding Half-Life 3, as many fans think it would be the only way Valve can mask the $1,000 price tag of its console. It's not concrete evidence, but it's renewed hope.
GTA 6 PC
Finally, we hit Grand Theft Auto. Hogging the limelight in 2026, and likely 2027, all eyes are on what Rockstar Games plans to do with the post-launch support for this colossal title.
Take-Two has already admitted that the fun doesn't stop when GTA VI ships, but when the PC port and Online mode will drop is as big a mystery as anything in the gaming industry. Surely, it arrives by 2027, right? Surely...
