Resident Evil 10 has leaked online, and it looks like a popular but unexpected protagonist could return.
Unless you’re a Resident Evil fan that’s been living under a social media rock lately, there’s a good chance that you’re aware of the multiple rumours that have been making the rounds claiming that Capcom is remaking several games in the series.
Those remakes include a second remake for the original Resident Evil, as well as Resident Evil Zero and Resident Evil Code: Veronica. However, at this time, nothing has been confirmed by Capcom, and no strong evidence has been provided to support the rumours. We’re just relying on the word of a leaker right now.
That being said, a new rumour has begun circulating regarding Resident Evil 10 (which is an unofficial name at this point and will most likely have a subtitle, similar to Resident Evil Requiem). That latest rumour is courtesy once more of Dusk Golem.
In a series of tweets, Dusk Golem claims that the protagonist of Resident Evil 10 will be Claire Redfield, which I’m sure will please a lot of fans (me included). What’s more, it seems like the heavily rumoured remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica will play a part in hyping up Claire’s new story.
There’s no teased release date for Resident Evil 10, but it looks like it will arrive after the Resident Evil Code: Veronica remake, which is expected to be released sometime in 2027. Not including the RE2 remake of 2019, if this rumour proves to be true, it will be the first time Claire Redfield has starred in a new mainline game since 2015’s Resident Evil: Revelations 2.

Of course, these rumours have not been confirmed by Capcom and should be taken with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise, no matter how reliable Dusk Golem has been in the past.
"Let them out, Capcom!" pleaded Twitter/X user ImCordellTaylor, accompanied by an image of some of the most popular female Resident Evil characters.
"Claire as the RE10 lead after the Code Veronica remake would make sense," said Redditor Yarzeda2024. We quite agree.
“As a horror game in its own right, Resident Evil Requiem is a very solid nine out of 10, but as a passionate fan of the series, it earns an additional bonus point thanks to the attention to detail and craft that’s gone into every pore of this game,” I said in my review.
Resident Evil Requiem is out now on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2.
