We thought Hogwarts Legacy had no more new magic to share with us, yet a surprise announcement about the game has just been made.

Having explored the halls of Hogwarts since its release, many players had expected the updates to be few and far between in number now.

However, the official X channel for the Warner Bros. title has just revealed that you'll soon be able to take to the skies on more than just a broom.

The post reads: "Ever wanted to ride a vacuum instead of a broom? Take a swing instead of a swish and flick? Test your mettle in a custom dungeon created by your fellow Community members?"

Accompanying the caption is also a video to further tease this latest surprise freebie.

The free modding update will become available from 20 January, thus allowing the wizarding world to embrace its creativity even further.

Naturally, given that this update is specifically designed for modders, console players might not be as thrilled about this update as PC users.

Although there's no mention of a console version as of yet, that isn't to say one isn't coming. However, console users should prepare to have their magical dreams of riding a vacuum, amongst other things, dashed. You know, just in case.

"Just stop this game is getting too good," remarked @NekoShen85. "Just want to say thank you to the entire team that worked on this game and keep it up."

Another fan, this time @YerDasBoaby, said, "This is great, it's a strong modding community is great for a games longevity. Would still like a year six and seven expansion for the game, though."

Heftier DLCs are still at the top of many Hogwarts Legacy players' wishlists. While it seems unlikely those will come, this surprise announcement gives us hope.

What is more, with a recent sequel update having been revealed, even if we don't get additional DLCs, the second game looks to be addressing fans' major concern.

Soon, Hogwarts Legacy will be brimming with new possibilities. We genuinely can't wait.
