Nintendo Switch owners can grab a slick new freebie today

Fans of the ocean are in luck thanks to Nintendo

As an incentive to keep that Nintendo Switch Online subscription going, Nintendo are giving members the chance to get their hands on some slick new freebies.

As with any video game subscription service, the aim is to offer members not only access to new titles but also some free items that won’t be available otherwise. This can be seen with PlayStation Plus, Xbox Game Pass and now Nintendo Switch Online.

Check out the Endless Ocean Luminous trailer below!

On top of full access to online Nintendo games, Nintendo Switch Online members can also offer classic titles that were originally released for the NES, SNES, N64 and Game Boy.

That includes the latest Nintendo Switch exclusive: Endless Ocean Luminous. First released back in 2008, the third entry in the Endless Ocean series debuted for the Wii and is now available to own again.

Not only can players access this new title but Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can also get their hands on Endless Ocean Luminous profile icons. As you can probably expect, these profile icons feature everything sea-related including sharks, seahorse, angler fish and more.

The first batch of icons are available until 8 May and more icons will be released in waves (har har) up until 29 May.

To grab one, you will have to exchange platinum points but once owned, they are yours to keep forever regardless of an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription.

We at GAMINGbible were lucky enough to review Endless Ocean Luminous earlier this month and called it a “serene submersion that takes a dive.”

Our review read: “If you’re nuts about fish then this is probably a game for you, but if you’re looking for anything more than an artificial aquarium simulator, you might be disappointed by how shallow it is…

Overall, Endless Ocean Luminous provides a serene, deep-sea diving experience for those looking for a game to stick on for a few hours with lights off and headphones on as you just unwind for a bit.”
