Scopely’s Pokémon GO has announced another major event for November, with a collection of free rewards arriving alongside the debut of a long-awaited Mega Evolution.
The mobile game's latest upcoming celebration, Clefable Super Mega Raid Day, will be bringing a three-hour window of special battles, increased Shiny odds, and extra chances for Trainers to strengthen Pokémon through various bonuses — another sizeable addition to the game's tenth-anniversary celebrations that've been going on throughout the year so far.
Raids are amongst the go-to ways to score powerful legendaries and other strong bosses you can catch Pokémon in GO, but doing so can get expensive if you plan to use more than the one free Raid Pass you get each day when spinning a Gym Photo Disc. Extra attempts in a day require you to spend more PokéCoins, but this upcoming event will take that cost away for a short while.
How to get six free Raid Passes in Pokémon GO
According to Pokémon GO’s official announcement earlier this week, trainers will be able to collect up to six free Raid Passes by spinning Gym Photo Discs during Clefable Super Mega Raid Day, running on Saturday November 28 from 2pm until 5pm local time.
This means you won’t be limited to just one free Raid a day, but half a dozen, so you can take on extra bosses at Gyms without having to spend either your hard-earned PokéCoins — or any of your actual real-world money to buy more if you’ve run out.

There is also free Timed Research to complete, offering a Premium Battle Pass (like the standard Raid Pass, but you can normally carry more than one at once), and a bonus encounter with Metagross. Although, the announcement has also made clear that these rewards must be claimed before the research expires at 5pm on the day.
For those willing to spend a bit of money to get even more value out of the Mega Raid Day, though, a $4.99 event ticket increases the number of Raid Passes obtainable from Gym Photo Discs all the way to 14, alongside bonus Stardust, XP, and boosted odds of getting Rare Candy XLs from encounters.

Mega Clefable finally arrives in Pokémon GO

Of course, the big attraction of the Clefable Super Mega Raid Day is the titular Mega Clefable — finally making its Pokémon GO debut after its first franchise appearance in the Pokémon Legends: Z-A game last year.
Headlining Raids for the game during the afternoon event, the Pokémon GO team has confirmed that you’ll thankfully have an increased chance of encountering Shiny Clefable after a successful battle, too.
The Mega Clefables you catch in these Mega Raids will already have Mega Level 1 unlocked, though Trainers will need to spend additional Mega Energy to advance further.
Whilst Mega Evolved, though, Clefable gains access to Moonblast+, a Charged Attack that starts at 80 power in Trainer Battles and 160 in Raid Battles, becoming stronger as its Mega Level increases.
What’s more, a worldwide Global Challenge will also reward players for collectively taking part in Raid Battles during the event — with temporary buffs to Moonblast+ and Mega Clefable's overall combat power. The more tiers you complete, the bigger the boost for your Mega Clefable.
For any unsure new players, Super Mega Raids only appear at selected Gyms, but players can use the Pokémon GO map to find the right locations and coordinate with any nearby communities you’ve got ahead of the event.
