Battlefield 6 is bringing back one of the most iconic destruction features from Battlefield 4 after 13 years, thanks to an upcoming free update that should please longtime fans of the series. We're talking about proper tower destruction, resulting in a spectacular collapse that was way ahead of its time back in 2013.
When Battlefield 4 was revealed in early 2013, one of its biggest selling points was the incredible skyscraper destruction that blew fans away. At the time, many perhaps wouldn't have expected something of this magnitude on PC, let alone PS4 and Xbox One.
Remarkably, even the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions featured their own impressive tower destruction. What made it so ahead of its time was that this wasn't just a scripted spectacle to watch, but an event that players could trigger themselves, permanently changing the multiplayer map in the middle of a match.
Battlefield 4's spectacular Levolution destruction left players stunned
Players got to experience the spectacular Levolution mechanic during the October 2013 beta, which quite literally changed the battlefield on the iconic Siege of Shanghai multiplayer map. Watching a massive skyscraper collapse in real time was an intimidating sight, and one that has remained memorable for fans ever since.

While the Battlefield series has continued to feature impressive destruction mechanics over the years, few moments have quite captured the spectacle of that original skyscraper collapse.
Ahead of Battlefield 6's launch, developers even explained why they had moved away from the large-scale Levolution events seen in Battlefield 4. However, 13 years later, it looks like that spectacular destruction is finally making a comeback.
What's returning in Battlefield 6 â Season 5: Siege of Vegas â Phase 2
As part of Season 5, Phase 2, Battlefield 6 will be getting the new European Casino map, featuring the return of epic tower destruction with a massive 120-metre-tall structure that can collapse right in the middle of a multiplayer match.
Much like in Battlefield 4 back in 2013, when that tower collapses, it will permanently change the layout of the map until the match is over. Better still, players won't have long to wait, with the free Battlefield 6 content update arriving on Tuesday, November 10 2026.
Here's everything else coming with Season 5: Siege of Vegas â Phase 2, as detailed on the official Battlefield website:
New weapons, vehicles and equipment
- NSW4 Carbine: A new weapon designed for close-quarters combat, featuring fast handling, subsonic ammunition and an optional supersonic ammo type.
- ADS-17 6GHz Signal Jammer: A new gadget that disrupts enemy radar and makes it harder for opponents to share information about spotted players.

Casino Heist event and free rewards
- Casino Heist: A new limited-time event available in Battlefield 6 and the free-to-play REDSEC.

Battlefield 6 developers previously ruled out Levolution's return at launch
Interestingly, ahead of Battlefield 6's launch in October 2025, developers explained why they had moved away from the spectacular Levolution destruction seen in Battlefield 4.
Speaking to Video Games Chronicle in August 2025, design director Shashank Uchil discussed the iconic Siege of Shanghai skyscraper collapse, saying: "Everybody stops and watches it. The issue with that is it gets stale very fast."
However, while the developers favoured a more tactical approach to destruction in Battlefield 6, they never completely ruled out the return of larger-scale Levolution events. Well, just over a year later, it looks like that spectacular destruction is finally making a comeback.
The free content update will be available to Battlefield 6 owners on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
