New Assassin's Creed teaser confirms return of Ezio Auditore

New Assassin's Creed teaser confirms return of Ezio Auditore

A new teaser for Assassin's Creed Nexus seemingly confirms the return of Ezio Auditore.

The Assassin’s Creed teases just keep on coming. It’s a great time to be a fan of the franchise. With the upcoming Ubisoft Forward due to air on 12 June, it shouldn’t be long until we find out what’s in store for the Order of Assassins across the next couple of years.

At last month’s PlayStation Showcase, a gameplay trailer for Assassin’s Creed Mirage was unexpectedly released. Thankfully, the game looks utterly glorious. We also discovered that it’ll be released on 12 October, so we don’t have too long to wait. The Ubisoft Forward promises to unveil a number of other Assassin’s Creed projects including Codename Jade and Nexus. Personally, I’m dying to hear more about Codename Red - an upcoming instalment due to be set in feudal Japan. There’s also Codename Hexe … I could go on. Today though, a new teaser appears to confirm the return of Ezio Auditore.

Take a look at the Assassin’s Creed Mirage gameplay trailer below.

The teaser is linked to Assassin’s Creed Nexus, the franchise’s upcoming VR title. As reported by GameRant, fans from the Access the Animus community are convinced that Ezio, Connor (from Assassin’s Creed 3), and Kassandra (from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey) are set to return as playable characters. Essentially, the fans worked together to crack a code in a recent Nexus teaser.

The game popped up during the recent VR Meta Showcase with a teaser featuring a number of binary strings. Community members TheEagleBearer, Sky, Dwarf, L3vinu, and Pascalpalace were able to translate these to birth dates and, as you might’ve guessed, these are the birthdates of Ezio, Connor, and Kassandra. It’s been rumoured for quite some time that Nexus would allow players to step into the shoes of characters of yesteryear releases, so this fits with what we know.

We don’t yet know if these are the only three playable characters or whether there will be more. Then again, we only have a handful of days before Ubisoft are due to spill the deets.
