Steam is back at it again by making one much-loved, albeit underrated title, free to download for a limited time.
The PC storefront is no stranger to making life a lot easier for gamers by regularly offering them the chance to grab a free download here and there and this month is no exception.
If players grab Shade Silver before 21 August at 7pm, they will be able to keep and play it for absolutely free. After this time, it will head back to its full retail price.
So what is Shade Silver?

Well, it is hard to sum up as it is described as a hero shooter, 2D platformer, bullet hell and a puzzle game all in one.
Developed by Chris Allen, Shade Silver will task players with avoiding spikes, fire, water and electricity as they kill enemies and bosses, collect keys and treasures, discover secrets, solve puzzles and unlock new areas as they make their way through this non-stop dungeon crawler.
“This game is a game with dungeon crawling, puzzle, shooter, timing, secret finding, boss battles, engaging environment, treasure finding, fun fun fun,” the developer shared over on Steam.
“You play as Shade Silver traversing levels finding treasure, avoiding traps, shooting enemies, finding secrets, and secret levels, beating bosses, overcoming challenges, solving puzzles, paying ogres, and enjoying a journey to the end.”
See? I wasn’t lying about it being jam-packed.
As players progress through Shade Silver, they will gradually stumble across four bosses and their unique battles, 75 “cool and fun secrets”, well over 50 enemy types, three endings, 20 achievements, 100 unique songs and much more.
Not only that but the developer has claimed that although the game is technically finished, they are still going to continue working on it so expect some updates in the future.
