Lovers of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag can rejoice to learn that a brand-new pirate-inspired title is on the way with this one pushing your survival skills to the limit.

If you are an advocate for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag receiving a remake or remaster but notice that the pleas of fans are going unanswered by Ubisoft, you may want to turn your attention elsewhere in the meantime and luckily, this upcoming release may just do the trick.

Combining the beloved Assassin’s Creed entry with survival games such as Valheim, Crosswind is the latest open-world survival craft on the market which just so happens to star our pirate friends.

Developed by Crosswind Crew and marked with a “coming soon” release date on Steam, Crosswind is a survival adventure set during the Age of Piracy.

Although it will not star Edward Kenway himself, players will find themselves in a procedurally-generated open-world where they will have to build, gather and craft to overcome challenging bosses in soulslite combat.

Whether you fight at sea or on land or play solo or with friends, you are guaranteed hours of pirate-related fun.

“Crosswind is a survival game set in an alternative Age of Piracy,” the official Steam synopsis reads.

“It features the classic “build, craft, survive” formula and challenging boss fights, complementing it with sea battles, boarding actions and seamless ship-to-land gameplay.

Driven by real-world characters and supernatural powers alike, the story unfolds into an epic fight against unspoken ancient evil.”

After a job gone wrong, you will take on the role of a freelance courier who is left stranded and must work out which steps to take next.

“What starts as a grounded story of survival and revenge will put you in the middle of a conflict between empires, pirate clans and mysterious dark powers looming on the horizon.”

It will not be long before you are conquering the seas, perfecting your survival skills and hoisting the colours in a swashbuckling adventure.

Crosswind has not yet received an official release date but it is already available to add to your Steam wishlist so don’t miss out on this epic survival game inspired by Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.
