Despite endless rumours over recent years, the highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake has not been officially announced at the time of writing.
However, thanks to one insider, we now have some more information regarding the possible remake and it seems as though we will be receiving quite a few quality-of-life improvements.
It is hard to believe that it has been almost 20-years since the first Assassin’s Creed entry was released way back in 2007.
Since then, the Ubisoft franchise has become a household name with multiple entries, spin-offs and even movies.

With the future still looking bright for the Assassin’s Creed series, its fans are still hoping that we will get to revisit some of our favourites in the shape of remakes and remasters.
That being said, it is 2013’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag which the majority of fans want a remake of first.
Although one has not been officially announced by Ubisoft, it is believed that it is currently in development and according to one insider, it will introduce a big change.

Youtuber j0nathan claims that there will be major changes brought with the Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake.
According to him, the remake will take inspiration from some of the more recent Assassin’s Creed titles and adopt features such as Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ weather effects, and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s loot system.
A Densely Populated Map
Additionally, it will feature a revamped menu/UI and, as we can expect with all major remakes, will also feature drastically quicker load times when fast travelling and loading into cutscenes.

The map is also rumoured to feature more activities than the original 2013 release and although it won’t be bigger in scale, it will be a lot more densely populated.
Of course, all of this is worth taking with a pinch of salt as, despite many insiders claiming that an Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake will be released in 2026, it has not been confirmed.
Therefore, we do not have confirmation of either a release or the features it may or may not include.
However, there is no denying that millions of fans across the world will appreciate an excuse to dive back into the escapades of Edward Kenway during Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and Ubisoft would be silly to miss out on this opportunity.

In the meantime, all we can do is wait to see if the much-loved Assassin’s Creed entry will be on our 2026 dockets.
