Although an official Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake has not yet been confirmed by Ubisoft, multiple sources have revealed otherwise.
However, if it does indeed go ahead, fans of the original 2013 title are eager to see a popular glitch make a grand return.
First released well over a decade ago, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is widely regarded as the best Assassin’s Creed entry thanks to its beloved main character, naval gameplay, engaging story, and stunning visuals.
As a result, fans have been campaigning for a remake over recent years in an attempt to bring the sixth major Assassin’s Creed entry to current-gen consoles.

Although Ubisoft is yet to confirm a remake, it has certainly not denied one and thanks to multiple insider rumours and reports, there could indeed be one currently in development.
Even in recent days, a newly-released trailer for Assassin’s Creed Shadows may have just featured a hint at the Black Flag remake with visuals of a familiar looking ship.
As mentioned, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag was praised by critics and players alike for many different reasons.
However, in typical Ubisoft fashion, it is a glitch that has been the subject of many discussions over the years.

An Iconic Ship Makes An Unexpected Appearance
First spotted over a decade ago, even by our very own Olly Smith, a glitch in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will cause Edward’s ship, the Jackdaw, to become stuck under the sea.
However, when approaching it, it will suddenly rise out of the water, giving it a striking similarity to the Flying Dutchman: a legendary ghost ship originating from 17th-century Dutch maritime folklore.
The ship has featured heavily in pop culture, perhaps most notably in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and more recently, Sea of Thieves.
A clip of the iconic glitch was recently shared on X (formerly Twitter) and it has got fans hoping that it will appear in a potential Black Flag remake.
“Ah yes, a bug that people thought was an Easter egg.
I really hope they can recreate this but not as a bug though,” one user commented.
“Back when these could be considered Animus glitches. Good times,” another added.
So if an Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake is on the horizon, let us hope that this iconic glitch makes another appearance or even become a fully-fledged feature. We back it all the way to Davy Jones' Locker and back.
