Vampire Survivors dev gives away free Steam keys for base game and latest expansion

Vampire Survivors developer Poncle is giving away free Steam keys for the base game and its latest expansion, Legacy of the Bloodmoon.

Vampire Survivors has been one of the most popular indie games of the last few years, and that’s partly down to the low price and consistent updates Poncle has released since launch.

But aside from that, it’s just a fun game with an excellent gameplay loop, which is why many people still flock to it four years after release.

Following the release of the game’s latest expansion, Legacy of the Bloodmoon, Poncle is now giving away free Steam keys for it and the base game to blood donors in a new campaign called Blood for the Bloodmoon.

How it works is pretty simple: schedule an appointment at a recognised blood donation clinic, and donate blood at that location any time before September 30. Even if you’re unable to complete your donation, simply showing up to the appointment will qualify you for the giveaway.

You must then submit proof of your donation by October 7, at which point you’ll receive a Steam key for Vampire Survivors and Legacy of the Bloodmoon bundle. These keys are only given out “while supplies last”.

If you can't donate blood, financial donations are also accepted

If you are unable to donate blood, Poncle has provided an alternative where you can donate to any registered blood-related charity to be in for a chance to claim a game bundle.

Poncle is matching all donations for a combined total of $5,000 USD, with matched contributions going to the American Red Cross. As of writing, matched donations are currently at $1151.46.

Of course, as with many campaigns like this, there are a few terms and conditions to be aware of. For starters, you need to be a legal resident aged 18 or older in countries where keys for both Vampire Survivors and Legacy of the Bloodmoon can be redeemed.

You can also only get one Steam key per email address, with keys being distributed on a first come, first serve basis. Once they’ve all been claimed, no additional keys will be provided.

Instead of a Steam key, you’ll alternatively be able to claim a key for the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, and Apple Arcade.

Once you have submitted proof of your donation, keys will be emailed within 30 business days pending approval of your submission. Make sure to check your spam or junk folder before contacting support.
