Witchbrook, the cosy RPG that was announced over ten years ago, has finally received a release date after years of delays.
Originally announced in 2016 with a bigger reveal in 2018, Witchbrook has seen a few delays over the years that have come about as a result of a simple idea being stretched into something more substantial.
What began as a simple "Stardew Valley meets Harry Potter" has now turned into a fully-fledged RPG with co-op, full character customisation, and massive amounts of content to play through.
After a decade of waiting for a release date, though, Chucklefish has finally revealed when players will be able to play the game.
Witchbrook release date is set for January 2027
Witchbrook's release date has finally been confirmed as January 28, 2027 across PC and console.

The announcement was first confirmed in today's Nintendo Indie World direct, before Chucklefish itself put out its own announcement on its social channels.
It'll be coming to PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, with PlayStation 5 also being announced as a new platform for the game.
Witchbrook will be priced at $24.99 across all platforms, with further regional prices being shared closer to launch.

Chucklefish has also confirmed a physical edition for Witchbrook, available in both Standard and Collector's Edition variants, and will be released a little while after the digital release.
Witchbrook is the fourth game developed in-house by Chucklefish, in collaboration with Robotality, and the first title it has developed and published since 2023's Wargroove 2. Much like the company's other games, it uses a pixel-art style and features open-ended gameplay that encourages replayability, which makes it a perfect game to add to your game library.
If you're a fan of Stardew Valley or Harry Potter, it'll be the right game to snuggle up with during the long winter days of January and February next year.
"Witchbrook invites players to enrol as a witch-in-training at Witchbrook College, in the bustling seaside town of Mossport," a press release for Witchbrook reads.
"Attend classes and complete assignments in Alchemy, Astrology, Tarot, Rituals, and more as you expand your magical knowledge, study hard to pass exams, and unlock spells on your path to graduation. Between lessons, forge friendships and find romance among a colourful cast of characters, start your own witch business helping the local community, or spend your time taking it easy! Join a club, attend seasonal events, go birdwatching, bug-catching, fishing and more! Renovate your cosy woodland cottage and garden, and customise your witch. Additionally, all of this and more can be experienced with up to 4 players in online multiplayer!"
