Hogwarts Legacy isn’t strictly a cosy game, but it does feature cosy aspects.
The opening hours where you players attend lessons and learn spells is very reminiscent of the type of gameplay you find in life sims and, of course, there’s the Room of Requirement.
Within the Room of Requirement, players can decorate, brew potions, and breed and care for a wide array of magical creatures; it’s almost a game within a game.
Well, if those facets of what Hogwarts Legacy offers appeal to you, you might want to keep Luenna: School of the Magi on your radar.
Developed by Evenir Studios, Luenna: School of the Magi is a “fantasy student life RPG” that’s essentially what you might end up with if you took the Hogwarts Legacy formula and applied Stardew Valley’s aesthetics.

“From mellow life sim tasks to in-depth turn-based combat, there are as many ways to spend your time at Luenna as there are stars in the sky,” begins the synopsis.
“Catch bugs and fish, cook up dishes to give to your classmates, and explore the magical world that lies beyond the school gates - whatever fulfills you most!”
It continues: “As a person born without magic in an academy of the world’s most adept up-and-coming Magi, you’ll have to work hard to make a name for yourself and fulfill your dreams.”
The typical cosy fare is all included as players will engage in fishing, collecting flora and fauna, and cooking, alongside more magical activities like potion crafting.

As an RPG, however, there’s also plenty of combat within Luenna: School of the Magi.
The school is split into four houses (sound familiar?) with players able to recruit fellow students into their party.
You’ll have to work hard to foster friendships. Devs note that the game has “five possible love languages” so you’ll need to say and do the right things to boost your friendships.
The school isn’t in the best state, so the player is also tasked with getting it back to looking its best. That’ll include gathering the right materials - perhaps with some help from the school’s spirits.
Of course, you’ll have a dorm to call your own within the school which you can decorate further.
Devs haven’t opened up too much about combat just yet, but we know that Luenna: School of the Magi features turn-based skirmishes.
“Explore the countries around the Runestones that give the world its magic to your heart’s content - and, bit by bit, uncover the threats against Evenir as you know it that loom beneath it all,” it’s teased.
“Who knows? You may just discover some things about yourself along the way, too. But one thing is for certain - this world needs your help if it’s to keep on turning.”
Luenna: School of the Magi hasn’t yet settled on a release date, but we do know that it’s coming to PC via Steam with the Steam listing already live.
If this game is appealing to you, your best bet is to wishlist it and that way, you’ll be kept up to date with any announcements regarding its release.
