We’ve all heard the expression, “This is everything I never knew I needed.” Well, that’s how I feel about Wylde Society.
This year’s Wholesome Snack 2025 Showcase has drawn to a close, and it was packed to the rafters with incredible cosy gaming announcements.
One of the most exciting was arguably a first look at the upcoming Wylde Society from Studio Drydock, an upcoming magical period drama sim.
Yes, I didn’t know that was a genre either but it combines everything I love.
Advert
I’m a simple girl; I love a period drama, whether it’s watching Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen’s Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy share longing stares for the umpteeth time in Pride & Prejudice, or watching the trials and tribulations of the latest ‘Diamond of the Season’ in Bridgerton.
It’s quite strange, really, that the gaming sphere is yet to tap into the genre, well, before Wylde Society came along.
Wylde Society contains all of the elements you’d hope to find in a cosy sim.

Players can decorate and customise a humble abode as well as befriend NPCs and attend society events, plus practise some magic too - something I’m sure will appeal to Hogwarts Legacy fans.
The game is set within the town of Fairhaven at the turn of the century, and you assume the role of a witch who moves in to renovate and expand the Wylde family boarding house.
There are tea parties to throw, and balls and dinners to attend as you try and climb the ranks in this cosy, fully-voiced adventure.
The player character, Vivian, is also capable of hosting seances where she can assist others in contacting spirits to see to their unfinished business.
There are familiars to collect, including cats and otters, and they’ll be able to assist you with their own magical abilities.
I adore that Studio Drydock has gone down the fully-voiced route; I love cosy sims but I do so wish most weren’t so, well, silent.
There’s no release window for the game yet and for now, it’s only confirmed for PC via Steam with additional options listed as ‘TBD’, so there’s hope for a console release at least.
There’s Another Wylde Adventure On The Way
Studio Drydock also announced during the event that Wylde Flowers, the studio’s former title, has shadow dropped on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
If you want to get a taste of what Wylde Society, the period sister to Wylde Flowers, might have to offer, that latter title is a great place to start.
This also, again, gives hope that we might eventually see Wylde Society land on console.
