007 First Light has joined the PlayStation Plus library with a surprise trial available for members.
Announced this week via IO Interactive's social channels, 007 First Light is now available as a trial for PlayStation Plus Premium subscription members at no additional cost.
The trial includes one hour of gameplay of the full game, with the option of continuing your playthrough by purchasing the full game after you've finished the trial.
With only one hour of gameplay available for the free trial, this doesn't leave you with a lot of room for playing the game. At most, you'll be able to finish the first mission and see that rather excellent opening title sequence and song by Lana Del Rey.

Still, we'd say this is a good taster of what the full game has to offer. The opening mission is an excellent introduction to the espionage world that IO Interactive has designed, featuring a mix of story, stealth, and action neatly tied into a single package. It's also a great chance to see Patrick Gibson's excellent performance as James Bond, who truly makes the role his own.
You can download the trial for 007 First Light by launching your PS5 and heading to the PlayStation Plus app. From here, find the section which allows you to access PlayStation Plus Premium Trials, and you'll find the option to download 007 First Light from there.

007 First Light has been one of this year's best-reviewed games
If you end up checking out the trial for 007 First Light on PlayStation Plus Premium, we'd recommend also picking up the full game. It's certainly one of the best action-adventure games of the year, and is a true love letter to fans of the franchise or of IO Interactive's previous work.
When we reviewed 007 First Light earlier this year, we scored it 9/10, saying that it was "the game that finally gets Bond right" due to incorporating the social stealth elements of the character.
It has since become one of this year's biggest games, earning a 97% recommendation on OpenCritic and selling over 4 million copies.
The game is an origin story for James Bond, showing the character entering the 00 program and training to become the superspy that we see in the various novels and films that have existed for the past 70 years.
Patrick Gibson stars as Bond, supported by a cast of actors including Priyanga Burford, Lennie James, Alastair Mackenzie, Kiera Lester, Noémie Nakai, and Lenny Kravitz.
IO Interactive continues to support the game during the post-launch with new content added to the TacSim bonus mode, including new missions, outfits, and weapons, as well as other additions such as New Game+ and Photo Mode. An upcoming DLC featuring the character Bawma has also been confirmed to be in development for release at some point in the future.
