007 First Light Releases Official James Bond Theme Tune By Lana Del Rey

The launch of 007 First Light isn't all that far away now.

James Bond's AAA outing is finally ours to enjoy next month, with 007 First Light set to arrive on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on 27 May.

A Nintendo Switch 2 version is also on the way, although that was recently subject to a delay with the handheld port now arriving this summer.

007 First Light serves as an origin story for James Bond, with our rookie agent earning his 00 status.

This time around, it's Patrick Gibson stepping into the shoes of Bond in what is shaping up to be a star-studded cast.

Lennie James is appearing as Greenway, Gemma Chan portrays Dr. Selina Tan, while Lenny Kravitz is on board as villain Bawma, to name just a few of the game's various stars.

And now, a little over one month away from the game's launch, 007 First Light's theme song has been unveiled. After all, you can't have a new Bond entry without an iconic tune to go with it.

The star power just keeps on coming. 007 First Light's theme tune is titled 'First Light' and it's performed by the very talented Lana Del Rey.

Now that is a very strong Bond theme song. 'First Light' feels very contemporary, although it has those classic Bond orchestral elements that give the song a sultry, slick feel.

The song was composed by both Del Rey and David Arnold. Arnold is no stranger to the franchise, having score five different Bond films including hits like Die Another Day and Casino Royale.

This actually marks Arnold's long awaited return to the Bond franchise, with Quantum of Solace being the composer's last project.

"The music of James Bond has always been a huge part of its identity," Arnold said in a press release.

"A title song has to tell us about the world we are about to enter into. It has to intrigue, excite, and beckon us in. This song joins a long line of genre defining songs, each one creating a benchmark of style that adds to the magnificent heritage that is ‘The Bond Song’. That’s why I was so excited to work with Lana, an artist who brought elegance, atmosphere, and her totally unique character to this piece, which I hope will open the world of Bond to a whole new audience."
