James Bond 007 First Light Story Trailer Drops, But People Are Divided

The James Bond 007 First Light story trailer has finally dropped, but people are divided.
At the Playstation State of Play on February 12, fans were treated to a sneak preview of the upcoming game.
Developed by IO Interactive, 007 First Light is a new spin on the legendary spy franchise, and many are comparing it to Hitman.
"I'm honestly really excited for this game," one said on Reddit. "It’s like if Uncharted and Hitman had a baby."
Another said, "Looks fantastic. Hitman mixed with the cool gadgets and tech from Bond. Then add some action, gunplay, and cars once in a while. Really hope it turns out because this has some amazing potential."
"I can't wait for this! Lifelong Bond fan and Hitman fan since the original way back in the day. Have put serious hours into each and every Hitman instalment. This is going to be a perfect marriage for me."
However, some gamers are less hopeful after watching the story trailer.
"Ehhhh, that Bond looks and sounds way too clean and meek," one said. "Also, it's like a game from 10 years ago... that's a bit worrying."
Another agreed, "They really need to retry on the main character. He’s got no Bond style to him. He looks like a Lifetime movie protagonist."

The upcoming title will give players the rare chance to step into a young Bond's shoes, before the tuxedo and martinis.
In the trailer, the up-and-coming spy is tipped for MI6's newly revived 00 programme, following his exploits in Iceland.
It's a classic origin story, that will detail Bond's first major mission - the one that'll finally award him 00 status.
The trailer is now available to watch on the Playstation website here. The game will be released on May 27, 2026.
