There are quite a few games set to arrive on Steam before the end of the year and into the start of the new year, with plenty that look worthy of attention (depending on what kind of thing you're into).
2025 has already been a notably stellar year and it's showing no signs of slowing down, even as we approach December and things shut-up to allow us to eat turkey and watch rubbish movies.
If you're one of the many fans of cosy games, a genre that has gone absolutely bonkers over the last five years or so, then one game in particular should stand out, and there's a new free download you can get right away to give it a go.
Lila's Atelier is Cosy Crafting Magic
Lila's Atelier is set to release in March 2026, a cosy action game where the basic premise sees the player craft items in order to earn enough points to progress to the next stage.

In the developer's own words, "Lila and Jasmine, two magicians who have lived in the forest since childhood, unexpectedly embark on an adventurous journey. After facing various challenges, will they be able to find their way back home?"
"This is a casual action game where players need to craft and submit enough items in different stages to earn points. To achieve higher scores, careful route planning and skilled controls are required. The game scenes are also filled with various mechanisms and traps, so you’ll need to use your wits to turn danger into safety."
The whole thing is rendered in a very aesthetically pleasing pixel art style, that immediately draws up thoughts of games like Stardew Valley and Tiny Kingdom.
Each stage comes with a unique theme, and levels are filled with traps and mechanisms that you either need to avoid or use to your advantage to progress.

The game can be played in single-player, but it really looks like it will come into its own as a co-op game, with both players able to work together to get the protagonist's home.
In even better news, you don't have to wait until March to see what it's like. The developer has just released a demo on Steam that's available to download right now, which will give you a good overview of the main mechanics and story. Though they haven't detailed exactly how long the demo is, it should have more than enough to let you decide whether you want to buy the whole thing.
