Despite delaying the most-anticipated game of all time twice already, Rockstar Games appears to be struggling to complete GTA 6 and could be forced to cut content before its original release to avoid a Cyberpunk 2077 scenario.
The upcoming Grand Theft Auto is nearing 13 years in the making, with the sixth instalment of the beloved franchise expected to blow everything we've ever played out of the water.
Expectations are really that high, having reportedly already surpassed $2 billion in development and marketing, making it the most expensive game ever - by a huge(!) margin.
Yet with the November 19 finishing line hurtling towards them, Rockstar is hoping to avoid another half-a-billion-dollar delay, but it might come at the expense of in-game features being pushed back to a DLC.
Sales predictions claim that GTA 6 is poised to make a colossal $1 billion in its opening weekend, and upwards of $7 billion in the first two months, thanks to its unprecedented $100 price tag, which really sets the bar for expectations far above anything else on the market.

But, there is a growing fear that the lawless game will be launched in an unfinished state and face a similar fate to Cyberpunk 2077.
This follows a recent company review on Glassdoor from an anonymous former employee, who revealed that Rockstar is squeezing six months of work into a three-month timeline.

Citing that 'free food' and the pride of working on the 'most anticipated entertainment project in the world' as the pros, a list of cons put the unrelenting pressure into perspective.
"The work schedule has been hectic since last month," the former QA analyst said.
"Some colleagues had to work till 3 am in the morning after completing their shifts.
"[Rockstar is] expecting us to complete tasks that usually take 5-6 months in 2-3 months."
The additional effort is allegedly coming without a boost in pay, and the report claims complaints to the Head of Departments fall on deaf ears.
It's an easy comparison to draw, but a hard deadline for Cyberpunk 2077 was the main reason that the title launched in such disarray. Although players can now enjoy a quite masterful RPG in its finest form, the bug-laden, low-performance opening derailed its momentum and resulted in one of the saddest launches yet.
Fans now think that GTA 6 will have to actually cut many of its features to prioritise polishing what is already on the table, pushing content into post-launch DLC packages.
"You can't just squeeze 6 months of work into 2 months and expect devs to code faster by drinking more coffee. They have to cut things to survive," said a popular community figure on X (formerly Twitter).
"Some stuff is likely getting scrapped right now just so the game can hit Take-Two's November deadline.
"GTA 6 will obviously still be a masterpiece, but this leak confirms we'll probably play a slightly downsized version of what they originally wanted to ship."
We're not talking about a protagonist with only half a torso or buildings missing roofs, but the crunch may see side quests, expanded dialogue sequences, or even parts of the weapon arsenal and vehicle collection management being put into an update a few months after its November release.
It's either that, or yet another delay...
