A streamer who was invited to see Grand Theft Auto VI early has shed some more light on certain gameplay features which were not elaborated upon in the Extended Look.
Streamer ElRubius, who was invited by Rockstar Games to see a hands-off early look at Grand Theft Auto VI earlier in the year, has discussed everything that he saw in his latest stream.
Some of these details were already seen in the Extended Look which aired on Netflix last week, but this new information from ElRubius delves into the topic with more detail.
New Grand Theft Auto VI details shed light on certain gameplay features left out of the Extended Look
As summarised and shared on Reddit, these new details range from specific control schemes, to random interactions you can have with NPCs, to the way vehicles operate.
To start with, backflips when jumping into water are manually controlled in the air, similar to how you can do flips while in the air in Marvel’s Spider-Man.

ElRubius says you can buy cigarettes, and the smoking animation “actually lasts for a while” unlike a quick inhalation in Red Dead Redemption 2. It also fills your focus metre, which acts like RDR2’s Dead Eye.
He also takes some time to speak about NPCs, revealing that there is an interaction menu for any character in the game, with “way more dialogue lines than RDR2”. NPC density is also said to be massive.
Of course, ElRubius also confirms there will be no children NPCs in the game, for obvious reasons.

Meanwhile, vehicles work similar to how horses behaved in Red Dead Redemption 2, allowing you to store heavy weapons and extra outfits in the boot of your personal vehicle. You can also request that your car be delivered to your location using an app.
Higher-end cars also come with GPS trackers, so stealing one requires you to take it to a mechanic to get the tracker removed. You can also use focus before stealing a car to reveal nearby cops, as well as the vehicle’s value.
Also on vehicles, ElRubius says that the driving combines the weight of GTA IV’s driving with the reactivity of GTA V.
Finally, ElRubius has also confirmed a few other additional features, such as full limb dismemberment during combat, pawn shops that allow you to sell stolen goods, and a TikTok-style social network which you can use to find certain information depending on what is being broadcast.

All-in-all, it sounds like there were a lot of things Rockstar revealed during the previews that weren’t shown in the Extended Look.
With only a few months left to go until launch, it won’t be long until the community can discover these features for themselves.
Grand Theft Auto VI will launch on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
