11 amazing features GTA 6's Netflix extended look shows us, forget Cyberleek
The first official GTA 6 footage has been released with Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look going live on Netflix.
Netflix initially crashed when it first went live at 8pm BST on Thursday (27 August), with thousands tuning in to get a glimpse at what Rockstar has to offer some 13 years after the last GTA instalment.
GAMINGbible sat down to watch the 27 minute GTA 6 special, with the below being our main takeaways.
One of the first things that is clear to see is the dynamic driving players endure when behind the wheel, with suspension and acceleration / breaking as real as it's ever been. Later in the extended look it then shows the player competing in an official track race akin to something WRC players would usually be taking part in, showing it's not just police chases that'll tickle our interest.

Footage also shows players able to switch between driving a car as one of Jason or Lucia to the other character in the passenger seat, so you can focus on taking out police or other enemies while your companion takes over the wheel. So, so cool.
Then there's shooting and combat. We're shown that players are able to hop across car bonnets during shoot outs to avoid enemy players, before entering combat mode and taking them out.
Lighting appears to be a really important thing to master, shadowing and dark areas looks harder to see in compared to previous editions of GTA where it is still artificially light compared to real life. The 27 minute clip starts off in a trap house, where you can barely see what's going on. It's grimy, dark, and rough. But ultimately realistic.
There's a bit of a flashback to the initial GTA 6 trailer,with fresh, fleshed out footage of Lucia and Jason holding up a convenience store. This time going beyond cinematic cut scenes to how it works when doing it in game - showing shopkeepers having the ability to fight back. As for outfits, it reveals that players have the ability to wear a bandana over their face or not, hinting to what Rockstar has said about your identity will become notorious should you not conceal it and change clothes often.
Then we cut from the hustle and bustle of Vice City to the swampy lagoons of rural Leonida, an homage to real-life Florida and its ying and yang climate and lifestyle. It's out in the environment where footage shows players scuba diving before the water action continues on jet skis and canoes.
Strip club footage shows Jason and Lucia flashing the cash with dancers. But we'll say less there, this is a PG website after all.
Other mini games are hinted at, including shooting range challenges, skydiving, and dirt bike racing.
The end of the release focuses more on mission / story based combat, showing players taking cover behind furniture and walls before unleashing on targets.
During these scenes, you flip between Lucia and Jason as they embark on different passages of gameplay. While brief in the video, it gives what feels like a more well-rounded gameplay experience in the story that we're all going to indulge in come November.
'Forget Cyberleek, this is the real deal'
The footage feels like a blockbuster movie. Except we're all going to be able to play it.
Taking to X, one viewer wrote - 'Forget Cyberleek, this is the real deal - referencing the last 10 days of leaked footage from the anonymous individual(s) releasing footage without permission from Rockstar or Take-Two.
"They trumped anything Cyberleek did, that's for sure," another said.
Amen to that. The footage is superb and leaves all those leaks in the dust and hype at an all-time high.
Confirmed GTA 6 features
From industry previews of the game, it has been confirmed that the legendary San Andreas gyms are making a comeback alongside eating bad food making you put on weight.
Bonnie and Clyde are also the confirmed inspiration for the tale being told through Lucia and Jason, with the backgrounds for both of them uniquely different - Jason is ex military turned drug dealer, Lucia is a fighter serving time.
What else, though?
- NPCs can react to what you do - wield a weapon and they will run away, beat up someone and they will act shocked
- Character switch between Lucia and Jason, just like in GTA 5 with our three amigos Michael, Trevor, and Franklin
- There is solo and duo play
- Like with Red Dead Redemption 2, there is an honour system where your actions will have consequences in the world around you
- You can also go viral by your in-game actions, with a social media feed accessible in game
Cyberleek leaks winding down?
The latest from the community indicates that the GTA 6 leaks from the now infamous Cyberleek are coming to an end.
According to reports from GTAForums.com, two people involved in the leaks and subsequent crypto pump and dump scheme are cashing in.
"I'm going to post a more detailed post later but after digging through the transactions roughly $268K was withdrawn from the transaction fees for $CYBERLEEK. The money was then divided up between 4 transactions and sent to various wallets that ultimately ended up in three different places; KuCoin, CCE.Cash, and there is some still sitting in various wallets that haven't moved yet," writes reputable member Vice Cit.
"The KuCoin and CCE.Cash transactions seem to suggest at least two people are involved in this and they're using different methods to withdrawal their crypto. CCE.Cash is a swap service that does not require registration but would still have information law enforcement could use in an investigation."
Rockstar 'heartbroken' at leaks
On the leaks, Rockstar said: “Dear all, we know that many of you have been waiting to hear from us regarding the events of the past week. It would be an understatement to say that having videos of Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay leak in this way has been heartbreaking for our team, and this is obviously not how we intended for you to see the game after all this time,” reads the statement from Rockstar Games.
"We are very sorry that everything has taken as long as it has — from getting the game finished (nearly there!) to sharing more details and official gameplay, and providing the community with everything you want to know.
"We are very excited for everyone to see the extended look tomorrow. It has taken longer than we wanted to get it ready, but as with everything we do, we know we need to exceed your expectations, and we are determined to deliver at the level you expect and deserve. While it is unfortunate that the intended game experience may now be impacted by some spoilers, we hope that everyone will wait a bit longer to experience the game for themselves on November 19.
"We want to thank everyone in the community who has reached out with messages of support this past week - your words have meant more to this team than you can imagine. Ultimately, we are making this game for you, and without you, we would not have the privilege of making games."
