The Blood of Dawnwalker has now launched, and it’s hiding a hilarious early ending that is most definitely the quickest and easiest way to roll credits on the title.
Developed by new studio Rebel Wolves, The Blood of Dawnwalker centres around Coen who resides within Vale Sangora, a region ruled by vampire clan the Vrakhiri.
After a failed uprising, Vrakhiri leader Brencis leaves Coen for dead, turning him into a vampire but staking him to a tree, leaving him to burn and perish in the morning sunlight.
Coen uniquely survives, however, turning into a daywalker. His family is taken, with Coen having just 30 days and 30 nights to retrieve them from Brencis’ stronghold and take the Vrakhiri down.

There are multiple endings within The Blood of Dawnwalker with your actions throughout the game determining whether Coen is successful.
For most players, it’ll take 50 to 70 hours to unlock one of those endings.

However, there are two ‘secret’ endings hidden at the very start of the game. Minor spoilers lie ahead, although neither of these endings affect the true story.
Coen doesn’t actually need to deal with any of Brencis’ nonsense
The first ending is likely one you’ve seen online. Towards the end of the prologue, Coen fights Brencis.
It feels like a scripted fight and once Brencis has depleted your health, this is where he pins you to a tree, unintentionally transforming you into a daywalker.
However, you can actually defeat Brencis. Depleting his health in Vale Sangora triggers a second wave of the fight where he transports you to hell and reveals his true form.
It’s nigh impossible to defeat this version of the character with no weapons and skills, but it is reportedly doable.
With Brencis wiped out, that’s it for the story.
However, the ending we’re here to talk about today concerns Coen just leaving Vale Sangora behind for good.
At the end of the game’s prologue, you’ll gain access to the open-world, departing Coen’s village of Laslea.
At the top of a nearby hill, players can find a gate that actually leads out of Vale Sangora.
If you decide to venture through the gate, it prompts a short cutscene to start.
“A road out of Vale Sangora. Looks like it hasn’t been blocked,” he says. “I could simply leave the valley, here and now. Abandon everything - everyone … but should I really?”
The player then has the option to “leave the valley forever” or “stay in the valley”.
If you choose the former and leave the valley forever, the game ends and you’ll get the completion trophy.
That does mean that Coen is dooming his family to whatever dark and grisly fate Brencis has in store, plus the vrakhiri will continue to reign over the region.

It’s dark and yet hilarious that Coen does have the option to do something so drastic.
You can view the cutscene below, shared by Twitter/X user KindredBlade.
“This is some Bethesda s**t,” replied one user.
“Lol bro just noped out of the game, haha,” added another.
We’re already excited to see what other secrets The Blood of Dawnwalker has in store. What a game.
