Cyberpunk 2077 really has proved to be the gift that keeps on giving for developer CD Projekt Red, as they continue to lean on the game for new releases, some five years after its original arrival.
Whether it be cool realistic swords from the game or one of the many offshoot comics and graphic novels set in the same world, it really is a good time to be a fan of the game and genre more generally.
Now, a new product has come down the line that actually might be one of the most exciting yet, particularly if you're a fan of little rectangular pieces of cardboard cluttering up your room at home.

Cyberpunk Trading Card Game Debuts on Kickstarter Soon
On the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter/X page, the developer revealed the plainly titled Cyberpunk Trading Card Game, which features characters from Cyberpunk 2077 and Edgerunners.

In their own words, CDPR shared the following about what players can expect: "In Cyberpunk Trading Card Game, you’ll put together the ultimate edgerunner crew with characters from across the franchise, pitting them against your opponent as you fight to become a Night City legend.
"Featuring stunning, custom artwork, Cyberpunk TCG is designed for trading card players, avid collectors, and fans of the Cyberpunk franchise alike."
The game will be heading over to Kickstarter at some point in the near-future, with the new TCG being developed in collaboration with WeirdCo games, who seemingly don't have any history producing products of this ilk.
Though they haven't confirmed an exact timeline yet, it does seem like any potential release is a bit of a way off yet, with plenty of steps still to work through before we get our hands on any cardboard.
In the meantime, you can get yourself involved at the early stages by signing up to the mailing list, which will eventually result in a free Nova Rare Lucy card when the game does debut.
That's also your best way of keeping up to date with everything that's going on, including card reveals, game updates, developer blogs, Kickstarter campaign timelines and more, all straight to your inbox.
Whilst we wait for all that exciting fun to arrive, most CDPR fans' attention will likely be diverted to The Game Awards, where there's an outside chance we may get a very early look at what the developer has been cooking up in the video game department.
That's much more likely to be something Witcher-related though, rather than Cyberpunk, just to temper your expectations a little.
