For over a decade, Grand Theft Auto V has been an ever-expanding playground for countless hours of enjoyment, moving way past the standard storyline.
While the tales of Franklin, Michael, and Trevor were a stellar story that we all enjoyed (up until the sacrificial ending, RIP).
With GTA VI, the campaign element will be bigger and better than ever before, with a map confirmed to dwarf Los Santos, and a playthrough time longer than any AAA RPG ever made.
But before GTA VI arrives, the current title has just been boosted by an end-of-life update that cements its legacy and marks a huge step forward for the longevity of the upcoming game.
Rockstar Games officially embeds NoPixel into GTA V - big boost for GTA VI
Having expanded GTA V way past the story mode, thanks to GTA Online, a huge community of players gathered on a third-party system named NoPixel.

Known otherwise as GTA Roleplay, the public servers allow players to create a character in Los Santos and live out an 'ordinary' life as a citizen of the city; adopt the role of a business owner, a policeman, a mechanic, or any other available role on the servers. The immensely popular alternative way to play is much more hilarious than it sounds, as you get up to mischief with other players while running your incognito job.
Yet after years of being run as a third-party app, Rockstar teased a partnership earlier this year and has now announced that it is officially embedding NoPixel V into its game launcher, allowing you to jump into the Roleplay game as seamlessly as you would GTA V.
"For years, we’ve seen the exciting possibilities and passion that the creator community brings to expand upon the worlds of Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2. GTA V Roleplay is one prominent example of how creators have brought their signature blend of creativity to these experiences and have pioneered new ways to play and watch our games," Rockstar said in a blog post
"Today, we are proud to support nopixel - who have continually pushed the boundaries of GTA Roleplay through character immersion, modifications to the GTA V map, and a creative community of dedicated storytellers - with the official announcement of the nopixel V closed beta arriving on September 8, where invited players will access the experience through the Rockstar Games Launcher."
Of course, this means it is still limited to PC gamers, but it opens up very intriguing possibilities for console players.
And the potential addition to GTA VI.

With unrelenting pressure on Rockstar Games to be all-in on the final touches of GTA VI, ahead of its gargantuan release in two months, it comes as a huge statement of intent that the developers are still so interested in and invested in the Roleplay community and NoPixel.
Undoubtedly, they will expect most of the players to move over to the new game when it releases, given their devotion to the series, but it's a great reward for those who have spent countless hours being a Sim in Los Santos.
Adding it this close to GTA VI only shows that Rockstar expects to need the NoPixel community for the upcoming game, with a whole new world of possibilities that will open when the next version of GTA Online comes out, supporting the new map.
Eagle-eyed fans also noticed that the update finally finishes the construction of the glass skyscraper in Los Santos, after 13 years, which has been consistent through each expansion of the GTA Online map.
Symbolic, now that construction of the next game is finished too...
