Grand Theft Auto VI is set to offer us an enormous open-world experience, and while that’s exciting, you should be terrified at the prospect of all there is to explore.
That’s because not even the game’s developers at Rockstar Games know all that there is to see, and I’m starting to think that GTA VI is about to make GTA V’s most notorious mystery, Mount Chiliad, look like child’s play.
Whether the Mount Chiliad mystery has been solved is a topic that divides fans; it essentially concerns mysterious symbols, murals, glyphs, and locations surrounding the mountain.
While plenty of dots have been connected by GTA V players, the most widely accepted belief is that the mystery is unsolvable due to cancelled single-player DLC for GTA V.

Rockstar Games hasn’t offered an official explanation, instead choosing to allow fans to continue discussing the matter among themselves.
This type of mystery is a characterising trait of Rockstar Games’ open worlds.
At the end of last year, Red Dead Redemption 2 players uncovered a new mysterious trail seven years on from the game’s launch, with spider webs leading to an odd question mark on the map. That too remains unsolved.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise then to learn that we’re also going to be met with new mysteries we’re unlikely to solve anytime soon within GTA VI - especially as Rockstar Games’ own staff don’t even know the extent of the game’s offerings.
In a new interview with IGN, Rockstar’s head of development and co-studio head Rob Nelson confessed as much: “The game is so big, I don’t know that there’s anybody on the team that knows all of it.”
He went on to add, “I think the challenge for us on this game is the same as it is on any new game for us. How do we evolve and build upon the good things we have done before in all the ways these things need to evolve, but at the same time ensure that the game still has everything that made the previous games in this series resonate with people?"

Nelson confirmed that those who explore the full breadth of Leonida will be rewarded
Nelson opened up about some of the new open-world features players can expect this time around, including NPCs noticing if you eavesdrop: “If you stand there and try to listen to the whole thing, they'll often turn around, notice you and go, ‘Oh hey, can I help you?’ Or if you follow people for too long and too close so that they can hear you, they’ll go, ‘Oh, hey.’ Then they may be aggressive, or they may just want to get away from you.”
"There is a whole other world in Red Dead Redemption 2," Nelson concluded in the interview. "GTA VI is very much like that. There's a whole lot of stuff that you discover emergently that we're not necessarily directing you to through objectives or blips or icons on a map as well. If you take a bit of time and explore you will be rewarded – a lot."

In just a few months time, it’ll be up to players to finally embark on the mission of exploring every nook and cranny of Leonida, attempting to uncover its many secrets,
That begs the question: are you going to follow the main story or simply just drive and explore when you load the game up?
Following the main story will perhaps be the most popular option, but there’s definitely going to be some players who simply want the glory of being the first person to discover an open-world secret.
GTA VI and all of its mysteries will be ours to enjoy on November 19 when it launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
