Popular stream xQc has never been one to shy away from sharing his opinions with his considerable audience, and the discussion around GTA 6 and its potential price point is the latest to come under his proverbial microscope.
The controversy has arisen after well known analyst Michael Pachter shared his predictions for the release of the game as part of his work for Wedbush Securities. Aside from a potential $10 billion in revenue and $500 million dollars a year from GTA Online exclusively, Pachter also confirmed his belief that the game would be priced at $100 at launch.
This would make it the most expensive base game at launch ever, and the first to hit three figures for its opening salvo. Other companies have been heading closer to that milestone, most notably Nintendo, with the $80 launch price of Mario Kart World.
While that is obviously a lot of money for a single release, if any game can get away with setting that price, it's likely GTA 6.

This revelation prompted xQc to confirm exactly where his opinions lie over on Twitter/X, and his reasoning behind why he thinks the $100 price tag makes sense.
"'Gamers' will pay $500 in gacha/skins for micro-transaction slop, $200 for early access to games still in development but $100 for one of the only games worth the price point in a decade is where they draw the line at," he said. "It’s 20% extra for 500% the quality/quantity. Stop crying."
Since posting his thoughts, xQc's tweet has been liked over eight thousand times, showing that his position does resonate with at least some of his considerable audience.
Whether Pachter's bold predictions come true remains to be seen, but with the game set to launch in May 2026, there's likely to be further direct information from Rockstar in the coming months.
